Most Rox fans are quite aware of the dominance the Heat and Magic have had on the Rockets in the last 5 years. Last year, we took it to you guys. We don't take your team for granted anymore.

The reason the Rockets will improve this year will be due to Van Gundy, Yao 2nd year, defense and Francis playing within the team system.

That's will produce more wins. Rockets. 41-41??? No. I think not. The time excuses are over. We can't afford to get off to a bad start.

 

Since you like quotes so much, how about Doc Rivers last year, "Who can I do to get a center 1/2 as good as Yao? David Stern - you lookin' gooood and not just your ping pong balls."

So if you figure yao into the equation then we could just throw in gooden and that would make us have the talent of the starting 5 you put on the floor. Mobleys a scrub, Francis is alright but in no way MVP Candidate. And because yao is 7 foot and is from china doesn't make him an MVP candidate Either. MOST VALUABLE PLAYER= Tracy Mcgrady...No doubt about it.

My first viewing (in Austin, no Rox on NBALP). All I can say is WOW.

3 or 4 (sometimes more) players touching the ball before the shot clock get to 12 seconds...a decent (albeit rudimentary) understanding of defensive rotations...Kelvin Cato with some actual low post moves (thank you, Patrick)...weakside player movement and off-the ball screens...tip-off to buzzer intensity...Yao establishing deep low post position and multiple players delivering accurate post entry passes...boxing out on the boards....

OK, OK...it's pre-season but these guys are playing noticeably different. And we're still missing MoT, Pike, and AGriffin.

 

Tyvm, JVG, keep up with the excellent work. You have transformed the Rockets. Anxious to see them kicking butts in the regular season.
