man... I didn't kno that JJ had scored 14 pts (same as Francis).... sheez. I really hope we keep this up and continue to improve cause I was so stoked last night after that win. It felt so good to tell the wife that 'we dominated' SA.... she didn't believe me, I had to break it down for her.

All I know is I had a friend record the game for me, and his VCR ATE THE TAPE.

Sounds like it was a great game, though. I guess I'll just have to continue waiting to see the Rockets in action for the first time this year.

Maybe I'll have to slip over to slcrocket's house. Sounds like he actually has cable...

    :(

The only problem is the absence of Yao Ming in any category.

I think this could be attributed to Yao missing the first 3 games of the preseason.

    -G'day-

If you are trying to be funny, you have done a good job.

If you are being serious, you are an idiot.

For the fans who said they were watching the 1st game ... we actually played a little better as a team against Denver.

We did play well against the Spurs but sometimes we got into the offense a little late. We were trying out some new sets so I guess it will take a little time. Our defense had an occasion lapse too but was good for most of the game.

Previous posts about Cato, Yao, Steve, Cat are good ... no need for me to rehash ...

    Some other notables ...
JJ found his shots. I guess he knew Turkoglu wasn't going to block his shots ... he just shot over him ... (Turk wasn't bad at the offensive end though)

Braggs, for the 1st time, showed me why he wasn't cut. He played fearlessly and with hi energy.

Boki looked more comfortable each game, he might belong in the NBA after all.

Just want to add one observation: most of the loose balls went Spurs way. I don't know why, but a lot of times guys fight for balls on floor and Spurs came away with it. Maybe just bad luck.

Yeah I think everything's been said. But was Willis' little address to the arena televised? Weirdest thing I've ever seen.

The PA guy announces Willis, he takes a mike and as reigning NBA champs he asks the fans to "enjoy the ride because it's going to take a while". Then the Spurs put on that kind of performance.

I know it's preseason, but I've never seen any team preface a game like that and imply they might struggle early. But that's what I got from it.

Even noting the injuries to Parker and Manu this team knows it's in disarray. Phoenix is likely to make the banner ceremony one big mess Tuesday night.

Yes, at least these 4 winners made me believe that the Rockets are on the right track now. I see light at the end of the tunnel. Of course, the Rockets still have a long way to go.

Indeed Teams will be different when regular games begin. I guess most teams are now contemplating how to contain Yao. The Rockets have to believe that JVG's system is working and hang on to that system until it is in the sub-conscious mind of all players. The perimeter shooters have to step up as Yao will definitely have a hard time upon the commencement of the regular season.

Good luck, Rockets, keep up with the good work.

I don't what game you guys were watching. Yes Rox did win. But Yao was not that great. His conditioning in fact was very bad. A lot of times he walked the court and looked really tired and lost. Also Duncan did not try that hard. I still don't see Rox will beat Spurs in regular season.

I watched the game on ESPN and then I saw Shaq in the following game. That was real domination.

Yao still has a long way to go even though I am a Yao-only fan.

Speaking of the Lakers, their preseason game against the Kings last night didn't feel like a preseason game at all. They got after it out at UNLV. One thing everyone is gonna realize is how good the Lakers are defensively. The first quarter, when Jax had his bog dogs in the game, was like a track meet. Payton, Kobe and Malone were everywhere on D, and flying down the floor on fast breaks ...

On the other side of the spectrum, the Rockets look bad. We know Houston has a few guys hurt, but they're just not good. Cuttino Mobley and Moochie Norris don't look like they fit in at allwith Jeff Van Gundy's squad ...

 what game did he watch??? the same one we beat the defending champs by 30?
