The assistant coaches apparently don't think Yao is valuable to this team. Why else does he log 2 minutes of playing time in the fourth quarter when the team is losing badly. Rudy needs to straighten sh*t up when he watches the tape of this game and let everyone know on the team and coaching staff what Yao means to this squad and that we need him as our clutch player in the 4th. He's delivered before and he could do it again if he had the chance. 7 shot attempts? gimme a break. If this team consistently benches him in the fourth and doesn't pass the ball don't be surprised if we have unhappy Yao ming in Houston.

    'nuff said.

rule number 1: dont sit your star player on the bench so long that icicles could grow from his ass.

rule number 2: Its just a game, Im grateful that Im able to watch it and talk fun smack with gtwatson, have fun, goodnight, peace.

    Thanks for the joke.

I think Larry is trying to make a case for Rudy. What a loyal assistant coadh. How long has he been an assistant? >10 years..he's gonna be an assistant until he gets fired or retires.

Is this the rockets retro night??
I just saw the vintage 4th quarter 3 guards lineup from last year!

I wonder who is going to start a fire Larry smith thread now...

Was Rice sick or something this game how come he got lack of playing time until the outcome was pretty much decided. And what was up with Ollie getting open underneath time after time in the second half?

Firstl of all, some of you guys really need to get a hobby. *lol* Seriously, is that all it takes to get the hatred on this board started up again: a loss in the Rockets last six games (5-1)?

Okay, now for my b****ing *hehe* Reasons are about to lose tonight:

    1) They left their defense and rebounding in Houston! Seattle has absolutely crap in the front court and they actually outrebounded HOU -- the NBA's second or third-leading rebounding team.

    2) Yao needed to become more involved in the offense b/c of the aforementioned crap the Sonics have to challenge the big fella.

    3) Turnovers. Stevie and Yao MUST cut down on their turnovers. Now, they've done a better job of it during the winning streak, but four and five TOs a game just won't cut it and the opposing team usually scores off these mishaps. It's really killer considering the two most important positions on the floor -- PG and C -- turn it over so much.

4)Lastly, I have to question the substitutions of "Mr. Mean." Rice didn't get nearly enough time and Yao sat entirely too long I believe. Also, Mo T could have been used a bit more. But it's his first game head coaching, so I guess he's allowed a mulligan.

Hopefully the Rox turn it around against Portland Wednesday. It'll be tough for sure, but they seem to step up their level of play against tougher opponents.

Just when you thought they have turned the corner, the old Rockets showed up. It's so hard to watch such ugly basketball. I don't mind if they loose as long as they play more like a team with good ball movement. Seatle played well tonight, but if we play like we did the past few games, we would have had a chance.

    and got benched at 2:53

Yao= 2 minutes playing time in the fourth. Good call.
Rice = 12 minutes playing time in the entire game. Good call.

what a feebile attempt to actually use rice in the last minute of the game. Just imagine the difference if he actually got some meaningful playing time tonight, instead of this stupid damage control.

Rockets are playing to make it look respectful right now, not playing to win, cuz its too late to play to win.

Man I'll give the Rockets some credit they played hard till the end of the game, but you can't overcome an entire game of pathetic coaching.

Yeah that's about the position the rockets were in without Rice and Yao tonight. The only thing missing was the KY.
