    What's happened with Francis?
At this crucial stretch of games, it is the superstar to shine.
Put everything on your shoulder. If you can't score, dish some assists, play a solid defense and, most important, get your team a W.

IMO, it is a huge mistake to give a player high salary just based on the personal stat sheet.

DCK, I agree with you that shooting is a problem. But the reason shooting is bad ....is that all og players think they are Michael Jordan...thye want to take every shot that comes their way..however difficult and certainly do not pass around. Look at our assist ratio...every day we cant be down in that category by nearly 10.....I am fed up.

As long as the ball goes in OUR basket, I'm happy. I don't care what it takes to get it in, just DO IT!

Yao is doing well ... even though he misses a few but those were high percentage shot .. just rattle of the rim ... since we are struggling with our J AGAIN ... lets just try to run the offense through YAO primarily ... I am curious to see what the outcome of such an offense would be ... I think Taylor and Yao and Cat should take the most shot this game ... everybody else has only make 1 shot and Steve the big 0 ... what is happening to Steve lately

It is time for Francis to sit out a few games and rest his back. He is not THIS poor a shooter. The guy is obviously hurting. That is the only way to explain his pathetic shooting.

Oh, btw, Hamilton and Barry are the Pistons leading scorers and are supposed to be guarded by who?

CAT AND STEVE

If you call yourself a leader, then you have GOT TO LEAD BY EXAMPLE which means BUSTING YOUR ASS ON DEFENSE!!!!!!!!!!!
Hell, even Glen Rice is playing better on defense than Steve and Cat. That is the Rockets problem in a nut shell:

Cat and Steve think they are immune from criticism or the need to play on both ends of the court for the whole game, and Rudy stands by with his hands on his hips or in the air with a permanent look of stupidity on his face!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Oh, and I'm sure that he's going to tell Eddie and Posey to "keep on shooting" ) Those two wouldn't be starting for anybody but Rudy!!!

Look at the bright side--they're down 18--not 20, like all you pessimists predicted. This team came to play.

The single most glaring weakness of this team was, is and will continue to be (until something changes) their shooting. What they actually need are players like Jon (or Brent) Barry or Rice when he was in his prime. They desperately need players who can shoot the basketball and knock down the open shots.

Posey is a great defender but he cannot shoot. Ditto Griffin. Taylor is a good scorer, but he isn't a SHOOTER. There is a difference. Mobley is inconsistent. Francis' game is not as a shooter. He is a scorer like Taylor. Yao is an inside scorer. Cato is a rebounder/defender. Norris is...well, whatever. Hawkins is a defender. Morris is a rebounder/defender.

The only legit shooter in the rotation is Glen Rice and he simply isn't the player he once was.

You can say whatever you want about the coach, but if the team has wide open shots and cannot make them, you are going to lose. Period. The games where the Rockets won big, they shot well. When they shoot poorly, they lose ballgames.

If there has ever been a time when the Rockets should give Nachbar a shot, this is it.

    Disgusting,
    heads have to roll.
If it wasnt for Hakeem there would be no NBA team in Houston anymore.

    Questions:
    1. Will we win another game this season
    2. When the Roxs practice do they go over defense or does Rudy
just give them the ball and says "have fun guys" then sits back
and sips on his mix drink?
    3. Could the Roxs beat a High School team better yet my 5yr old
    nephews Boys Club Team?
    4. Is this the worst Rockets Team EVER!! Seriously?
    5. Do the Rockets just SUUUUUCCCCKKKK !!!!!

Good! 49-31 at half time. Good. No surprise. They are not creating false hope. They are being honest. They are still on the right/wrong track.

Isn't it weird that people are complaining about Shaq has nothing but the bam bam play. Yao has other skills that Shaq hasn't but now they want him to only play like Shaq. Is it a good thing to abandon his other skills to make him play like Shaq?

    Sorry, no edit!

Sit Yao and Steve down with 4 minutes to go in the 3rd qtr. If we come within 8-12 points at the point, then let Steve and Yao play the entire 4th quater for a big run!

Scotia - I agreed with you ... I want to see Yao and Taylor play most of the half and the offense go through them ... try something different Rudy!

RocketRus - I see the same thing, Cat and Steve can't seem to defend their man ... did you see Hamilton backing down Steve and shooting over him ....
