No its about being pessimistic. The Pistons are on a terrible slide too, don't forget that.

Ugly ugly game. SF continues his shooting slump, Cat loses his touch and Yao gets abused.

Rox drop so far behind at the half that the second half is a practice run for the second and third string. Only bright spot is MoT continuing to play well and Hawkins dropping a few 3's.

Wallace says he's got Yao figured out. Yao should take him outside and hit that 15 ft jumper to keep Wallace from defending the paint and getting rebounds.

I really enjoy these great moments, now rarely found in Rockets' games. May I add:

    (8) cont'd: At the bench, RudyT whispers to him, "Don't ever do that again, this is illegal interception and would hurt the feeling of your teammates. This is why I bench you." Yao is confused and immediately looks for the help of Pine, who unfortunately is away from his seat for unknown reason.

    Thanks again for the fun.

If Rockets resume playing basketball hard AS A TEAM and lose, I don't mind as I see light in their future. If they stick to iso plays and win simply because those ballhogs' hands are suddenly becoming hot for whatever reason, I see no hope in their future. They are doomed to become a sub .50 team sooner or later.

Last summer at the World Championships. B.Wallace and A. Davids were hopeless defending Yao's 12-18 footers. I read from somewhere that Yao made almost 80% (can someone confirms this but wow!) of his wide-open-face-up-mid-range jumpers this year. The Rockets should run a little more pick n pop play to balance out his low post game in every game to take advantage of his deadly mid-range jumper. Too bad, the Rockets seem to satisfy with the way he gets his hard earned points in the paint.

If rockets play well they can win at all teams

The problem is the rockets only plays well 1 of 4-5 games.
So considering that our last"good game" was against Memphis. There are 5 games in the middle, so we can win

    But remember that:

    - Ben Wallace ates Yao in Detroit,
    - Taylor will be 6th man again
    - We have Rudy, so we can lose always

I am usually an optimist, but this team is driving me crazy. It is getting hard to watch. So add me to the pessimistic list, at least until the next two, that is two, game win streak. I am not asking for alot.

By the way, I hope your prediction is right.

The score doesn't reflect the whoop'n that took place.

The Rockets don't fare well against gritty teams that play tough defense, attack the glass and dive for loose balls.

Last time I saw this much pessimism in the game thread is the road game against Jazz. The team came up rolling. :D

I'm going to the game tonight.

    let me clear my throat........

first, this is the second time that yao will play against wallace.. look out wallace, yao goes for 20 and 10

steve actually decides to play a game from start to finish and everybody jumps back on his bandwagon.. for the interim

taylor continues his wonderful shooting and even though we play porous defense we manage to outscore the pistons

    predicion: Rockets 88 Pistons 82

As much as I think they'll lose tonight, I predict they will somehow, someway, get after it tonight...

    Rox: 80
    Pistons: 76

There are several reasons why they should lose (e.g. sucky offense and no defense), but I got a feeling Rudy will mix it up tonight and make the necessary adjustment...

Detroit is 20-6 at home. That's not a typo. 20-6.

It's a no brainer. Rox will lose.

I expect the same dreadful stuff Mobley and Franchise never passing the ball but taking their own shot with three defenders causing them to shoot bombs. James posey taking it upon himself to play his own game within the Rockets game and getting 5 fouls and having to sit. Its going to be a tough one folks, dont expect anything, but accept what they give us! Yao Ming please bring back the seletion of different shots which you were making earlier in the season.

And game not really as close as score indicates:eek:

Resetting expectations hasn't curbed my deep depression.

Actually I would say the rockets would loose to the bad teams, and they usually loose to bad teams after they beat really good teams.
They show up for the Good teams, and those games you cant really predict because they all come down to the wire (1st/2nd Overtime)

You can bet they will loose to the Mavericks.

You can bet that the lakers rockets games will be close .. (toss up)
