First of all, I am a New Yorker, so dont exepect any hometown sentiment for the Rocks because I happen to live in Houston now. That said, lets get to the matter at hand. I hate repeating myself but I guess I will have to. Who cares about how the Mavs start, It should be about how the finish. Just ask the 2001 Seattle Mariners, who had the best record in baseball history and then had to hear the deafing chants of "over-rated" from the New York faithfull as they lost to the Yanks. Fact is, if you have looked at all the teams who have had fast starts only 2 that I remember went on to win it all, the 93-94 Rocks and the 96-97 Bulls. I might have missed a few, but thats my point. Only a few were successful. Besides SA caught up with the Rocks in that season I believe. And the Hawks who started 11-0 or something like that didnt even make it out of the first round. Face it, your not gonna be the 72-win Bulls and you will not win it all this year or anytime sooner. There is too much competition in the league now and for the next couple of seasons and your team is way too soft no matter how good stick boy Bradley plays. The rest of the NBA will catch up to you, including the Lakers that you punked around with last night. And when it happens, it wont be a pretty site for Cuban and the rest of you guys. Enjoy your gonna be short-lived reign at the top for now. Cuz mark my words, your apocalypse is coming.

    1. totally agreed...the mavs seem to be committed to defense right now...that's NEVER lasted very long on any Don Nelson team...i said it the other day and i'll say it again...the mavs are a really really good regular season team...but that style of play has never been very successful in the playoffs when things slow down.

2 the spurs didn't catch the rockets in 93-94...the Sonics did, though. The Rockets finished with the second best record in the league that year

even great teams lose some games...even the 72 win bulls lost 10 games...when you start pressing records for games won in a row, you're ripe to get beat.

    2 guarantees:

    1) The Rockets are going to have to play incredible ball to win

    2) Steve Nash will get at least 25 points..(it will happen)

    GO ROCKETS!!

I hate the Cowboys:mad:...so I'm with you on that one dude. I'm actually a Houstonian-turned-Austinite whose name is Dallas in real life. I wasn't trying to be an ******* to you earlier, but now that I re-read my post I can see that I might've sounded like one. Sorry about that.

I believe he is from Austin. He seems to be a fan of both the Rockets and Mavs. Nothing wrong with that. Me personaly, I like the Mavs, but I hope we end their 11-0 record come Thursday.

You seem to be haten, may I remind you about your Nicks?:p

DallasThomas, weren't you the first one to post in this thread:confused:

I'm hoping this is how the toast will go (give or take a few words): "To the team who ended our winning streak..." :)

    Rockets 95
    Mavericks 93

Actually, I think Dallas will win, but I want to root for my team. We've played them well since they became a top-4-team-in-the-West.

I think Kenny would be best defending Dirk, but that would probably leave a mismatch somewhere else with Eddie on one of their quick small forwards. Perhaps Rudy could revisit the old small ball and start EG at center with KT at PF, then round out SF, SG and PG with Hawkins (or Rice or whoever), Steve and Mobley.

Rockhead pulled out the I believe from the old days (well, older days). Here's something else we need to bring back in order to win this game: DEFENSE. If we'll play it, we can win. But I don't want to get into a shootout with Dallas.

I was remarking on how the first 3 posts are links to another thread, as if we were taking care of our own board.

But that first post of mine was a sarcastic quote with a link to the game thread, and I'm not a Dallas anything fan. Picture getting asked everyday "Your name's Dallas? Were your parents Mavs/Cowboys fans?" and then having to reply "No, were yours?" for 21 years. I was born to hate all Dallas teams:)

Layden, our GM, has brought all of his Utah cronies to tha Knicks (i.e. Shandon, Eisley...) and now we suck. Who's he gonna bring next, Stockton, Malone, Hornecek's retired jresey, there freakin furry mascot and his stupid bike..... Ahhh I am sorry to rant, it just sucks!!!
    :(

Now I must put my paper bag back on my head and go back and hide in the corner where you can find all Knicks fans, Nuggetts fans, Cavs Fans, Bengals fans...... :(
