i do not know what francis is thinking. too many bad decisions in this game. too erratic. out of control. they should have won the game.

    Mobley was fouled.

If they're going to call Yao for nothing, they sure as **** need to call Madsen for slapping someone on the wrist as they shoot the game winning shot

I am afraid we are going to lose this game. Without Yao, not much a chance. F*** the refs.

Hmm...looks like they decided to include Lakers in playoffs at the expense of Rox.

    Yet another loss.

Sure the refs helped the Fakers with two phantom calls on Yao but it should never have come to that. We gave this one away.

The referees did not blow the game, the Rockets were simply outsmarted.

They are just not a cohesive unit out there.

I said it in chat and I will say it here too...

Horry, Fisher, Madsen, and Kobe are all SMART basketball players.

The Rockets only have one....and he fouled out on a very savvy move by Madsen.

    Rockets just don't want it.

The Lakers scratched and clawed their way to this win. They got 95% of the looseballs. Those countless possessions we gave up, ended up biting us in the ass.

The Rockets always SAY they want to win, yatta yatta. Isn't about time they lay it all on the line on the floor?

We are the 2nd youngest team, why do we look so slow and old? The freaking Jazz play with more energy than we do.

The excuse that we are young goes out the window, because the Rockets hardly act young, except when it comes to knowing common basketball sense.

I really don't know if this is Rudy's fault or not. Yes, his strategies do suck, but he shouldn't have to tell his guys to play hard.

My only beef with Rudy tonight, is that we played way too much man-to-man defense against Kobe.

WE WERE SCREWED!!!!!!!!!!CAN'T THE REFS SEE A DAMN FLOP WHEN THEY SEE 1??????????IS IT SO MUCH TO ASK TO MAKE AN OBVIOUS CALL???????HEY WHILE YOUR FOULING OUT YAO OUT FOR NOTHING REF, WHY DON'T YOU JUST EJECT THE WHOLE ROCKET TEAM WHILE YOU'RE AT IT IDIOT! ROCKETS PLAYED GREAT, HAVING THE GAME DECIDED ON A CALL AS r****dED AS THAT MAKES ME WANT TO GET A BAT AND BREAK MADSEN'S LEGS, THEN HE'D ACTUALLY HAVE A LEGITIMATE REASON TO FLOP!

We were outplayed by an undersized Lakers team and definitely outsmarted. I can't believe how clueless we looked at times tonight. Some changes gotta be made. This team has no floor leader and once Yao left the game, they had no idea what to do on offense.

But the refs did help out the Fakers with that sixth foul on Yao. Freaking Madsen was hanging all over Yao's arm. Talk about home court advantage. There is one for you right there.

    WE were ROBBED
We had this game won in the first OT, but the officials robbed us with:

    1) the blocking call against Yao with Kobe driving
    2) the cheap Madsen Flop against Yao
    3) the non-call on many Mobley and Francis FGA

Damn! Once Yao fouled out, Kobe was so prescient to just keep posting Cat down low. What a turning point. With Yao, Kobe wouldn't dare to post down low. And what's with Cat defending Kobe? Where's Posey when you need him on this assignment, eps when he's not contributing much on the offensive end?

I'm convinced that Cat is an either/or player. He either plays great offensive when he has a weak defensive assignment or he plays poor offense when he has a tough defensive assignment. Either way, he's D on Kobe stunk tonite. I mean, c'mon, Kobe is hobbling on on leg??!!!! Sheeesh

    Frustrated

I don't really agree with the 3rd reason.

I hate blaming refs for games, but Yao's 4th foul on Kobe and the 6th on Madsen, were just horrible. And the timing of Yao's 6th foul, and the fact that Madsen flailed his arms out, really had an impact in getting the Lakers to tie the game up.

The Rockets would have gone to line, perhaps, or gotten a shot off with the 29.8 they had to work with, but the refs fell for Madsen's BS, and the Rockets got screwed. IMO

as a rockets' fan, i'm embarrassed my team didn't show up to play. besides yao and moT played an average game while all the other rockets played terrible. noboby could make an outside shot, thus the lakers were collapsing on yao forcing him to take many fallaway shots.

    why we lost:
    1. francis and mobley couldn't make a shot
    2. francis dribbled all night doing his stupid crossover dribble, then he drove and often lost the ball.
    3. the p***y cat didn't even touch kobe when defending him.
    4. terrible spacing on offense.
    5. couple of bad calls by refs.

I think that not scoring 100 points in a double overtime game is the most telling stat (especially without the best defensive force in the game, Shaq).

    Enough said!

Oh, and by the way, can anyone tell me how many touches Mo T had in the final OT period (rhetorical question here). I think this is a clear sign that the guards on this team have no faith in anyone else.

    We lost for one reason.

That drive to the basket by Francis (the one he missed)...

We didn't lose it because he missed the layup, but because he sat in his ass and didn't get back on defense. Francis and his team gave up at that point. You could see it in their body laguage. Because they gave up, Fisher took it to the basket and got fouled.

There was over 1:00 left in the game and they gave up at that point.

From that point it snow balled.

obviously he didn't foul him hard enough that's what you are supposed to do.

It's tough to blame the refs for a loss, but I still can't believe the call that took Yao out of the damn game! That led to double OT and we lose the guy that's been our primary offensive weapon. On a call that clearly shouldn't have been called. This blows my mind. Mark Madsen got the call. Mark Madsen got a tick tack call on Yao to get Yao out of the game.

the only positive that came out of this terrible game is

    1) Yao getting more touches
    2) Yao's play in crunch time
    3) Mo T's solid play

    START MO T...
