Even w/o Shaq, we're still going to get killed by the scrubs on their bench (Walker, Shaw, George, Fisher, etc.).

    Rockets lose. Same story.

    Lakers 103
    Rockets 85

Well, at least it won't be until Wednesday that we're officially out of the 8 spot.

    Lakers 181

If we lose this game, we are basically in the worst position in the playoff race.

If we win this game, we may still have a chance.

Anyway, if Rox continues to play like what we have seen without a "breakthrough" or a huge improvement. We are going to be out from the playoff race no matter we win this game or not.:(

Lakers are hurting. This is from ESPN Insider today about Shaq and Kobe.

    #####
Shaquille O'Neal's toe is hurting. So is his knee for that matter. Kobe Bryant had to be helped off the court Sunday night after his "jumper's knee" -- the same thing that has grounded Vince Carter the last two seasons -- flared up again.

The Lakers, who once looked like they were on the verge of destroying everyone in the West again, suddenly look very human.

"I'm hurt," Bryant told the L.A. Times. "And I'm getting old."

"I exploded on a pull-up jump shot and sprained it and was pretty much dragging it for the rest of the game," he added. "I had tendinitis in both knees, so you have to constantly stay on top of it. The good thing about it is that I recovered pretty well and I respond pretty quickly.... A couple days of rest and I will feel just fine."

O'Neal is also struggling with the pain, though coach Phil Jackson expected Shaq, who missed Sunday's game versus the Knicks, back on Tuesday.

"I'm doing bad. I'm hurting," O'Neal had said Saturday. "I can't play like this. I'm going to have to get back on the medicine. I just hope it doesn't mess me up on the inside. ... I just need to get that step back. I'll have it back. It's still there."

Lakers will just be hammering in another nail in the coffin that we call our hopes to make it to the playoffs.

Maybe Shaq is resting up and preparing to bring his best against Yao. Really, Yao is the 1st worthy opponent that Shaq's been longing to have.

Although I don't Shaq will play on Tuesday, he might just surprise us by playing and get killed by Yao because he's slowed with a injury. Or Is he just faking it for excuse when Yao is going to kill him anyway on Tuesday.

SF will have another good game. I expect Cat to rebound and play with much better team concept. 4 Day breaks should at least give Cat to cool off and start thinking about the future.

If Yao Ming takes 20-25 shots the Rockets will win!

    Dude...

I agree, it seems that whenever theres a big match up, they come to play, but without Shaq, I can definitely see us play half-azz...

You mean 20 out of 25? Yes, we would win that way....but has Yao ever done this before?

Yao has taken 18 shots twice, I think, he's never taken 20 shots.

I dont care how many shots he makes,,he will make enough.
But Yao Ming should touch the ball on every possession.
If that happens the Rockets will make the playoffs!
but what do i know,,,,so listen to guys like Moses Malone, Walton, Tim Legler, Fred Carter, every other coach in the league, every other sports broadcaster...these guys all say the same thing..."Give Yao the ball, and the Rockets will succeed"

no. it should be the future vs the soon-to-be-the-past II

after watching the replay of game I, the rockets players( especially mobley and posey) played terribly down the stretch. they turned the ball over and took many wild shots. if they play like that in this coming game, the rockets will lose with or without shaq. they should be barred from shooting and dribbling. period. their jobs are to play defense, foul shaq, set screens and pass the ball to THEIR teammates.

Yes, it was awful how Cat made those 4 straight free throws to clinch it in overtime. I'm filled with disgust.

if the lakers is up by 21 points in the start of the 4th quarter, i hope rudy T benches the starting 5 and plays the backup for the whole period. He needs to send a strong message to the starters that must be ready to play from the get go; otherwise, they are done for the season.
