Only preseason, BUT DAMN I'M SO HAPPY. Most the people I know are ignorant idiots about the Rockets, and they always give me crap about the Rockets. Rockets win woooo! Also satisfying since I got Steve and Yao on my fantasy teams.:)

Man...I know I am late by saying this but nachbar got punished on that dunk!!!!! but to his credit, Steve went back a few plays down and snatched up wallace's ankles from underneath him and scored.

One of the radio announceres said that the Wallace dunk on Boki was one of the best game dunks he's every seen!

Guess it was better than the Amare dunk last year and Shandon Anderson's fast break dunk last year too?

Maybe with this win a few people will leave the hating JVG bandwagon and hop on the I support JVG bandwagon.

Ricky Davis had a similar one on Steve Nash last year.

Are you sure about the 19 minutes? Everywhere I looked, it says 28 minutes. Plus, both Divac & Miller were in foul trouble before Yao, so maybe Yao can foul them out if he had more touches.

Francis scores 29 to pace Rockets
    Associated Press

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Steve Francis scored 29 points as the Houston Rockets snapped a four-game losing streak with their first exhibition victory, 82-78 Tuesday night over the Sacramento Kings.

It was clear Houston's new coach Jeff Van Gundy did not want to add to the losing streak. He stayed primarily with an eight-man rotation throughout and the Rockets responded, leading for much of the evening. A ninth player, Gabe Muoneke, played one minute.

Yao Ming had 17 points and seven rebounds for Houston (1-4). Kelvin Cato added 12 rebounds, while both Bostjan Nachbar and Jim Jackson scored nine points.

Peja Stojakovic added 16 points and Bobby Jackson fueled the Kings' (2-2) second-half comeback, scoring 10 of his 16 points.

Starting in place of Doug Christie, who rested and did not play, Gerald Wallace enjoyed his best game of the preseason, getting 15 points and 15 rebounds.

After Brad Miller made a 3-pointer, cutting the lead to 79-76, Francis countered with two free throws with 10.3 seconds left and another one seven seconds later to secure the victory.

Although the Kings made a comeback in the third quarter, highlighted by a vicious dunk and three-point play from the acrobatic Wallace, it was Houston keeping the lead, thanks to Francis.

The flashy point guard scored 11 points in the third period when Sacramento held a 24-19 edge, cutting the lead to 66-63 entering the fourth quarter.

    Not good:
    NachBUST (41 minutes), 4/11 FG (1/4 3-pt), 9 pts, 4 boards
    Moochie (28 minutes), 1/5 FG, 2 pts, 4 boards
    Amaechi 1/6 FG, 2 pts
    J Jackson (35 minutes), 4/14 FG, 9 pts

    Ok but....
    Stevie (40 minutes) 8/22 FG, 29 points, 5 assists
Yao (28 minutes) 4/7 FG (need more FG attempts), 17 points, 7 boards

Making good living on the charity stripe:
    Stevie (12/13 FT)
    Yao (9/10 FT)

Regardless of the stats djunior, Boki and Moochie played well. I mean, who thought Boki would ever be associated with playing great defense.

Nachbar played hardnosed defense out there. He has long arms with good jumping ability. It's too bad Gerald Wallace posterized him. Next time he should try to stop the dunk and give a hard foul.

Steve took too many shots 8 of 22?..that's not very good but he got to the line to get his 29 points and I really think Yao and Steve are capable of scoring 20 points a night.

    some observations:

    1. Steve with some great passes on the fast break tonight. Still seems to have the urge to iso every now and again (he did name his record label iso).

    2. Boki looked good running the wings, finished a few strong dunks. He's lookin more comfortable out there. Also had a nice drive and dish for a dunk.

    3. Yao lookin great offensively. he really needs to work on GRABBING THE FRIKKIN REBOUNDS. I'm tired of him tipping the ball to teammates when he's got those giant hands. Just squeeze the stupid thing. Most of the fouls called on him were BS, where Vlade would just run into him and fall or somthing like that.

    4. Moochie....bleh. dribbling less, but still not really making a positive effect on the floor.

I just got back from the game. After that dunk from Wallace on Boki, the place erupted. My damn eardrums almost shattered. Steve Francis played well but he took several bad shots that could've been passed to an open man. Moochie just flat out sucked. I think Boki has quite a bit of potential but he made a lot of careless errors. Yao played well offensively but was somewhat clumsy tonight. He fumbled quite a few rebounds that eventually went to the opposing team. Cato and Braggs were great. All in all though, it was quite an exciting game!

I was hoping that Franchise would miss the last free throw and the Kings would make a three, sending the game into overtime. ;)

Pretty much. Everyone here is a diehard Kings fan. It was pretty funny during the player announcements. When Steve Francis was called, everyone booed but everyone cheered like mad for Jim Jackson and Yao Ming. :p
