You think so?? I sure hope it's promising.

For now, I would say it's due to Karl Malone broking his nose twice and grandpa team too tired playing against a younger team.

Gut check time AND PASSED THIS ONE WITH FLYING COLORS. Defense set the tone from the start and Stevie just put the team on his shoulders and said "follow me." You could see it in his eyes. He really showed me something tonite.

This team is gonna be the death of me, but we getting a glimmer of what can be:) :)

exactly. do not get too excited. utah is the 4th oldest team in the NBA. they are more tired compared to the rox who is one of the youngest teams.

plus malone breaking his nose...i'm not surprised they got routed by 30.

it is just a sign of inconsistency by the rox. they need to continue playing like this. if they get a winning record after next week, then this win might not be a pluke.

    DAAAAAAMMMMMNNN!!!!!!!! :D

Inspite of yesterdays results, with 28 Franchise points + 25 Dynasty points, that is definitely a sign of big things to come! It used to be where they couldn't simultaneously get high figures on scoring! I think the chemistry is really picking up here. But Franchise was just slashin' today!!

Sure you criticized Francis. As you pointed out, there's nba.com, and there's also an NBA forum on this board, but you had to inject it into a thread about the rockets game, and compare it to Steve's performance.

Since that didn't come true, you had to come up with something else.

We have an nba dish forum for that. Maybe we should have a "bash Steve" or "anything Steve did someone else in the nba did better" forum?

I have been one of the most vocal critics on the board in recent weeks, but I will give nothing but praise for the Rox effort tonight!! :D :D :D

Of course it helps when your PG goes off for 25 by halftime. The rest of the team is finally learning their roles and DOING WHAT THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO!!!

I am impressed with MoT bringing instant offense whenever they go to him down low. E.G. did not take an inordinant amount of perimeter shots and rebounded like a true P.F. Even Posey put up some points while playing excellent D.

I do want to send some positive energy to Cat, because if he's going to stay with the team, then we still need for him to get that outside shot going again!!

Regardless, Franchise absolutely ROCKED the WORLD tonight!!

    Go Rox!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just love how all the demented little Jazz fans disappeared after this one. And cmellon, so what if they're old? They've played back-to-backs this year and won the second game. The Rockets just showed how they should always play, and how the Jazz will be playing next year with their two franchise geriatrics gone.

Also, this game is a phenomenal example of how well we can play without Mobley playing well. Yes, I get just as aggravated as everyone else with him sometimes, but this more than shows that he is not the only cause of the Rockets' bad play.

Sometimes I see people also insert some important stuff going on in NBA at game thread. Is it a sin to compare Steve Francis performance against someone else?

Since when does comparing someone means criticizing that person. Criticizing is like: Steve sucks, Steve is a ballhoggg, Trade Steve, Shut the f@ck up Steve let Yao handles the ball, etc.

I didn't have to come up with anything else. I didn't feel the need to criticize Francis. In fact, I am the one who defends Francis against those people who idolize Yao too much.

And btw, I still think there was not too much involvement by other players in the first half. Luckily, Rudy realized that and changed the game plan in the second half.

I just heard Dan Patrick say on ESPN that tonight's loss was the worst loss for the Jazz in the Delta Center EVER.

Yes, he still is for many times. Look at this from a different angle, this shows that Rockets won without having to rely on Cat's inconsistency. In the other words, it proves that Cat is not THE MAN on the team, just a role player!

This team has driven me crazy for most of the season BUT I am really proud of Francis, Ming, Griffin et al for tonight's win. They could have rolled over, but Francis showed real leadership by "willing" the team to victory.

You guys showed some "real balls" tonight. I know you were exhausted, but you just sucked it up and kicked butt! Congradulations. It is was a test of "manhood," and you passed.
You may have lost some fans last night, but you got some new ones tonight.

And arrogant mofo, u forgot that. But as much as I hate him, you gotta give him his props where they're due. He's on fire lately, and the sole reason the Lakers are winning. When/if he cools off, Lakers are screwed. That's the reason that I'm not too terrified of the Lakers just yet... but I'm still skeptical.

And on another note, the 7 assists-for-Stevie barrier for a Rockets win continues to hold true. Also, even though it's just 1 win, and coming off of a terrible 3 game losing streak, right now I'm more proud of and have more hope for the Rockets than I have all season. Yeah, I know, there's absolutely no reason to believe they'll be consistent yet (or Stevie will stay this hot), but I'm happy right now...

One more thing, where has Francis' rebounding ability gone? He's averaged something like 2.8 rpg over the last 5 games...
