Dunno why for whatever reason but yao only got 6 shot in this game!!!??? i didnt watch the game so i dunt really know why but i think 6 shot attempt in 41 mins is not acceptable maybe hes too passive or maybe no one pass to him or maybe many other reasons but from what i read from the game post i really think this is a big problem !!!
I mean a guy who lead his team in fg% n 7'6 only take 6 shots in 41 mins whatever the reason is there is a big problem!!!!!!

You are right, you do not have to argue with me. I just felt it was pretty funny that someone said 90% of the time in the game ppl could not pass the ball to Yao because of the heat DEFENSE ... :D I just felt it was incredible that a center in the post only shoot for 3 times with assist (passing) in 41 minutes.

    Simply amazing... simply amazing...

I did not watch the game, and I just read the posts and the Clutch's recap. Like what Clutch said
Maybe Clutch is wrong, and maybe Brant made it tough to pass the ball to yao. However, you also have to realize a fact: the Rox ONLY have 12 assist in 4 quarters and OT. You are right, stat sheet does not mean everything. Maybe the Rox got only 12 assists JUST BECAUSE of the tough defense from the heat, and maybe we can win all the good teams with only 12 assists while facing tough defense.

My main point is: we did not pass the ball enough NOT because of the DEFENSE of heat!!!

PS: Do not argue about Cato with me, coz I brought him out just for fun. :)

Out of these 6 shots, 4 came from his own offensive rebounds!

I guess that the D on Cato was not as tough as that on Ming. I think sometimes Ming chose to pass the ball instead of force a hard shot, this may partly explain why he only got 6 field goal attemps.

Even though the game should not be as close as it had been, I still glad that we are able to win a very close game, which we usually lose. Fans will soon be happy again after we win the Pacers.

Was this our first win against a Pat Riley team since the 94 Championship? Didn't Riley have a huge win streak against the Rocks since then? Or maybe I'm thinking of Orlando.

Another game, another lesson for the Rocks.

The Gs actually played a solid game last night. While some of cry about Yao Ming not getting enough touches, I applaud them for not forcing passes into the post. Now, if they would just learn to build on momentum (i.e. if it ain't broke...), the Rocks could have coasted to a win instead of having to scratch and claw.

Newsflash: Brian Grant is BACK! He's struggled the past few years, but one of the league's best low post defenders has regained his form and is playing good ball again. There's no shame in having trouble setting up on Grant, dude is a M.A.N.!

Yao Ming, what more can you say? He's a top 3 C right now, and I'm not sure you can just say, 'Well, the only reason why he's in the All-Star game is all the voters from China...', he's actually played his way into the game.

Rarely forces his shot, makes his teammates better, and has become a monster on the boards and with the blocks. He's gotten a few lessons the last few games on physical post play, and still has to learn how to handle fronting and learn angles. But to his credit, he's kept his composure and contributed in other ways (rebounding, blocks).

But the player I'm most happy for is Griffin. Yeah, his shooting is still a little off, but he played with a lot of energy and confidence last night. So confident that he was actually putting the ball on the floor, which he's been very reluctant to do to this point.

I honestly believe that Eddie could be effective putting the ball on the floor for a couple of bounces and slashing to the rim, but he has no confidence; plenty of ability, but no confidence.

Keeping in mind that this was the first (?) game Miami played after Riley's postgame remarks two days ago about how the refs have it in for him and Steve Javie actually told him at a game last year, (paraphrase) "We've (the refs) have enjoyed watching your team's demise." So naturally the refs would come out and show that, Hey!, we don't have it in for Riley....see?

I didn't see the game (*sigh* no NBA League Pass here in Iowa City) but if the Heat players mugged ours, then maybe this is why.

In the entire game, the guy is ALL over Ming. On one board Ming clearly box Grant out for a rebound, but Grant pushed Ming so hard that he fell to the floor. But refs just chose to ignore all Grant fouls. He should be fouled out in the 2nd quarter.

What you're describing is a typical game for Dream. And he went through that for 15+ seasons. :)

What you call 'unnecessary roughness', I call 'Respect.'

I mean, that was the first game where a team actually came out with a legitimate, consistent defensive game plan for Ming, and actually treated him as more than just a complimentary offensive player. Would have thought so just a month ago? Now that's progress!

And to Yao's credit, he kept his composure, didn't press & force the action, and scored & contricuted in other ways. Now that's REAL progress!

Can someone tell me where Mo Taylor has been?

Does he have a phantom injury due to his bad play, is he in the doghouse?

I agree regarding Yao was keeping his composure. One thing that I notice is that Yao don't scream at the official when the call wasn't made. He doesn't show up the officials. I think in the long run this would definitely help Yao getting the close call. I think the official will appreciate Yao's attitude and if he decide to speak up to the official, they will know what he said is legit ( and not just whining). With a little more time as the official getting used to his style of play, I think he will be at the line a lot. Also rookie don't get the call much anyway. I also think Yao show a lot of class by attend to Caron Butler right away after that hard foul. It showed Butler that he didn't tried to hurt him.
