    aznsexyboi,

Aren't you the one who claims to predict the wrong game scores every time? So you predict Rox wins, we're gonna lose?

This game is huge for us -- we can pull ahead of SA and Utah with a win here, maybe build up some momentum heading into the Lakers game.

    We lose 90-88 :eek:p-

Man. Have u guys even observer that Yao ming did discussess somethng with RUDY T without Mr.Pine's help during the last game?(magic.)
I know there is a performance curve for every sports player.
I also figure out that Mng had alter his performance curve to set its peaked point at Jan 17. Reason? I think u suppose to know that. And i can predicate that Ming will play consistencely in a high level during a longer period of time.
    Mark it!
    rockets/hawks. 97/81.

I noticed it as well. And I asked it in that last game thread but no one replied. I think Colin's job must be in jeopardy. Poor man but he did enjoy a rather great honeymoon ride.

If rockets win, its a milestone. Since they have not won a sub team yet. Not this time. :(

The original Steve will be back.
Yao will land hard on Ratliff after trying to block a shot.
Yao shoots poorly in the beginning of the game, 2-6 by halftime.
Steve keeps Rockets in the game during first half.
Yao steps up during clutch time, going 3-5 in the 4th, after 1-2 in 3rd.
And also makes all 4 FTs throughout the game.

    Rox 93
    Hawks 89

I think there will be an injury somewhere in the game, either side.

Don't forget this is the team that got off on us early when the played us at the Compaq Center last month. Big Dog was very hot early. But we came back and smashed them. ;)

I predict the same thing in this game. The Rockets will start off a little slow since they are on the road versus a weaker team, but come on strong.

    Rockets 93
    Hawks 78

I'm thinking that the team might have made a serious change for the better. Based on the last two games, they seem to be playing much more team-oriented ball. This I think, will be a true test to see if they've made permanent changes....... coming off 2 great wins against pretty good teams, then facing a sorry team they should beat.

It's a scenario that has come up time and time again. Hopefully, they'll stick to the "new" game plan and come away with a win.

    Go Rockets!!!!

I"m going out on a limb and say blowout.

I'm going out on a limb and say that Yao will score a career high 50 pts tonight. I think Yao wants to send a message before he faces Shaq next week. :D

Rockets vs. Hawks Preview - January 10, 2003

    by Trevor Mitchell, rockets.com

    INSIDE SCOOP
The Rockets take the floor against the Atlanta Hawks in their second straight road game before returning to Compaq Center on Saturday to open a four-game homestand.
Houston is coming off a quality win against the Orlando Magic in which the Rockets defense held Magic star Tracy McGrady in check for most of the game. Yao Ming also had another impressive game, scoring 23 points and grabbing 11 boards. Going against a struggling Hawks squad, Houston will once again look to establish Yao's presence in the post.

The Rockets invade the Hawks' nest with one of the best backcourt tandems in the NBA in Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley. Both have been instrumental in leading the Rockets to a 19-14 record. Francis and Mobley combined for 45 points, 14 rebounds and 14 assists in a 101-82 rout of Atlanta on December 20. Both will be looking for more tonight against the overmatched Hawks.

After a decent start to the season, the Hawks have lost 12 of their last 14 contests and are currently on a six-game losing streak. Atlanta forwards Glenn "Big Dog" Robinson and Shareef Abdur-Rahim have performed well in spurts, but that has not been enough to lead the Hawks to many wins. Guard Jason Terry is another good player for Atlanta. Terry, who leads the Hawks in assists, has great scoring ability, but often takes too many ill-advised shots.
Atlanta's only hope may be if the Rockets continue their poor play against losing teams. While Houston has looked like gangbusters this week in victories over Minnesota and Orlando, they have been an enigma all season. If they can get it going once again against the Hawks, Houston will have much needed momentum going into its upcoming homestand.

The depth of the Rockets and superior talent should help Houston escape Atlanta with its third consecutive win. All five Houston starters posted double figures scoring in Orlando and should have their confidence going into Philips Arena. If the Rockets can knock down some shots early, look for them to break the century mark in the ATL.

    WHO'S HOT
Rockets - Yao Ming had a big outing in Orlando, posting 23 points and 11rebounds ..... Eddie Griffin also stepped it up with 12 points, nine boards and four blocks ..... Rockets free throw shooting - Houston made 25-of-26 free throws against the Magic ..... The Rockets pulled down 52 rebounds compared to Orlando's 34 on Wednesday night.
Hawks - Jason Terry put up 27 points and shot 50 percent from the three-point line in a recent loss to the league-leading Dallas Mavericks.

    WHO'S NOT
Rockets - Houston connnected on just 16.7 percent from three-point range against Orlando ..... The Rockets committed 21 turnovers in their last contest ..... Houston once again struggled in the assist category, posting only 12 in Orlando.
Hawks - Glenn Robinson made only 6-of-21 shots against Dallas ..... Shareef Abdur-Rahim connected on 2-of-8 shots and finished with only seven points ..... Rookie Dan Dickau misfired on all four of his three-point attempts and finished 2-of-9 from the field ..... The Hawks as a team shot 28 percent from the three-point line against Dallas.

    KEY MATCHUP
STEVE FRANCIS VS. JASON TERRY Two of the NBA's best scoring point guards go at it tonight as Steve Francis challenges Jason Terry on his home floor. While inconsistent at times, Terry scored a career-high 46 points against Dallas last season, and can get hot at any time. Francis brings his exceptional talent and stability into tonight's contest. If Francis' jumper isn't falling, the All-Star will turn to his passing and rebounding skills to help his team win.

Since it was successful last time, I will say this again:
We will win and we must win. Or We must win, We will win.
    Is the order really matters?
