I know this is a pointless post, but again, if someone were to say something like that, it's not something anyone should be b****ing about. Saying that the team has stuff to work on and that they beat themselves when they were playing the Grizzlies would be the truth, wouldn't it? I would actually be encouraged.

Let's whine about Francis' disgusting ATR, talk is cheap... especially when it's meaningless. Like something like that if he were to say it.

if we start giving yao the ball, we will win. however, i think its more likely that we lose.

    memphis 87
    houston 79

game wont be as close as the final score indicates.

that bulls game took alot out of me.

Yao needs to get a lot more aggressive on the boards too.. Too many times he just seems like he's out of it down around the boards, not even looking at the shot.. He just needs to get a mean streak going in him

Who says majority is always right!?

I say Rockets cream the Grizzlies

Ming is due for a monster game and Francis realizes that he needs to distribute the ball

    Francis 22 pts 8 asts
    Mobley 15pts 3 stls
    Ming 30 pts 15 rbs

    Rockets 91
    Grizzlies 80

    CALVIN MURPHY???? DISCIPLINARY APPROACH????????????

    MMMMMWWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAHHHHAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

If Cat Ears is made the head coach of this team, you can change the name to the South Portland Trailblazers. Murph don't know the first thing about discipline. I say leave Rudy alone and let him sort it out. He's a better psychologist than we give him credit for. The team is young, young, young. And even though there is no one anymore disappointed in them the last week or so, we have to remember that. We don't need to start over at this point. If Rudy and CD see that Steve isn't going to fit the system, they will move him, but they will move him for primo players, because Steve is a primo players. Just getting an Andre Miller in here ain't gonna do the trick.

However, at some point, Rudy is going to have to lay it down to Steve and Cat.................and Yao. The halfcourt offense has to go through Yao. That doesn't mean throw the ball to Yao 3 times and if he misses twice, quit going to him. That doesn't mean throw Yao the ball 7 times and because he has 7 touches and everybody else has 1 that you are to quit going to him because Steve and Cat have to get their 20. That means go to Yao. And Yao has to understand that he is to be the focal point of the half court sets. He has to be the trigger man offensively, whether to shoot, pass, or wait for the double, or take it to the rack. The decisions have to rest in Yao's head. Yao has to be comfortable with that and accept it.

And we need Stevie running the break where he does make good decisions. If you watched Steve at Maryland, he made great decisions running the break. But for Steve to run the break there has to be a break, which means there has to be a rebound from a rebounder, and a good outlet pass.

Along with youthful inexperience, the problem with this team is the roles aren't clearly enough defined yet. Whose responsibility is it to grab 10 boards a game? Who is supposed to be the primary rebounder on this team? Eddie? Yao? Kelvin? Mo? Wait a minute. Forget Mo. That dude will never board. Mo looks great out on the wing dribbling the ball between his legs crossing over the dribble and then hitting the 17 footer over David Robinson, but do we really need that from the PF? Of course, when no one else is hitting, we've gotta get the points from somewhere. But more than that, we need a board monster and great defender at the 4. We need that board monster so Steve and Cat quit standing around waiting for boards themselves, so that they have to get out and start running because some big ox down under the basket is gonna be wizzing outlet passes where they are supposed to be. That way we get LAYUPS, which we will hit, at least some at first, and the more we get used to shooting LAYUPS, the more accurate we will be at hitting LAYUPS. Once we get that working, it's funny the J's start falling, because the pressure is off, the defenders have to sag back, the defenders are more tired from having to run down the floor, etc. It's just old basketball fundamentals. You get the fast break working, and all of a sudden the shooting percentage goes way up, including the 3 point shooting percentage.

Our fast break sucks right now. Because we have 2 guards clogging the lane trying to help rebound and then they are a step behind getting up the floor. The problem is without Steve and Cat sagging in the lane for boards, we will get pounded on the glass. That is the only way we win the rebounding war.......when we win it.

I still say we are gonna make a serious run at Elton Brand or some other banger rebounder 4 before it is all over with. I love Eddie and his potential, but we need a blood and guts banger. Dennis Rodman, Maurice Lucas, Charles Oakley, somebody anybody that will bang.

Rudy: "I talk kinda slow, so I figured Francis and Mobley can understand me when I teach plays...guess not."

Mobley: "I wanna be like Steve."

Francis: "Why should I learn how to pass? ESPN doesn't show those highlights! There's nothing more important than an ESPY!"

Bad teams lose to good teams. Bad teams don't necessarily play stupid, they just don't have the talent, the experience, the chemistry, etc.

VERY bad teams beat themselves. Very bad teams may have the talent and the pieces to win, but they are too inconsistent and continually play stupid. Very bad teams beat themselves because they aren't even good enough to challenge the other team!

Steve Francis is just admitting that the Rockets lose because they screw everything up themselves. That's not very inspiring. I know what he's saying, but if they "keep beating themselves" it just means they suck, basically.

This is an example of why athletic ability (God given) will only take you so far.

The rest is basketball IQ. Which our team lacks.
