Too bad too many here think just like Steve/Mob.

"Who care about passing. As long as I score and hitting 50 %, I'll get the praise and the MVP" "Well the championship would be nice too, I think."

If the guy goes one on TEN and still shoots 49 percent from the floor, I could care LESS. It is time we all realized that Franics is not supposed to be Jason Kidd or John Stockton. This guy is an explosive scorer who can beat pretty much anyone at any time. Like Olajuwon was in the post, Francis is at the point.

If he's shooting under 40 percent or the team is losing, fine, great. But, when the team wins and he shoots a high percentage, leave the guy be.

As for Cat, I never defended him. He drives me crazy at times because, at least with Francis I get the sense he is LOOKING for possibilities. Francis also doesn't take as many shots with players on top of him. Yes, he crosses over and fires up outside shots, but his playmaking ability is such that he is almost always open and in rhythm when that happens. Remember Jordan's shot on the Jazz? Look familiar?

Cat, on the other hand, will shoot no matter who is on him because he makes his decision BEFORE making his move. The great players learn to improvise and create. Guys with great athletic but not great creative ability force it like Cat does. He IS the shooting guard so he is supposed to shoot the ball, but I'd like it alot more if he did it while open.

    Jeff -

Do you really think what Francis is doing on the court so far this season will beat the really good WC teams? It's fine if you do and you're certainly an above average observer of the game. But I will respectfully disagree.

To me the win against the Carter-less Raptors was Fools Gold - the team Toronto had on the floor tonight was very poor. They shot 28 of 79 and I just don't think that was all due to Rockets "D" (except for the Hawk).

A style of play that produces 13 assists on 36 made FG's is going to come back and bite us on the a**.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :)

Well I guess it's human instinct for instant gratification. We are so SHORT-SIGHTED.

If the Rockets go 10-1, that means consistency.

And consistancy means that they aren't depending on the ISO.

And if they aren't depending on the ISO, then I'm happy.

Now, tonights game was 60% team play, and 40% ISO.

That wont work against better teams.

He's not going to get away with that against good teams. You know that and I know that. You don't play selfish ball against bad teams and then all of a sudden play team ball against good teams. That's why people are unhappy. You will not beat good teams this way. I'd prefer not to have to wait until Francis turns to Islam before we have a shot at title contention.

I think he already did. He only answer to Allah, not his teammates or Rudy.

Why are you guys so freaked out over a championship? Who in the hell believes we are going to come close to that this year or even next year? This is a young team. We can be a success and learn and grow. Maybe we've had it too easy with all the veterans. Maybe that spoiled us. Sheesh.

So, Francis is better than Jordan or Kidd or Olajuwon or Shaq or Dr. J? Francis is on par with Magic or Larry Bird or Kareem? Really? Seriously?

Because, if you assume Francis can lead this team into the playoffs in his mid-90's, you must honestly have a higher opinion of him than most. Let's be realistic.

History has shown us that it takes TIME to become that type of player - the type that leads a team and carries a team on his shoulders. Francis has a way to go to hit that point yet. I'd love to believe he is a top 50 guy right now, but he isn't. What he is is a very talented young player with a lot of room to grow. He hasn't gotten close to his peak talent-wise. I think we all need to realize that.

Very well put, but if you can not believe in your teammates when you are up by 15-20 points, then when can you start to believe in them?

You know, part of the path from being a poor team to a good team is learning how to bury a team when its down. We did that tonight.

I do agree this team needs someone who can dish out assists. But that person is going to have to be a better guard all round than Cat, else we're stuck with the pair we have for now.

Thats our final goal. Not this year, that goes without saying. But whats the problem to get it sooner than later. We just want more team balls. Is it that much to ask, or so difficult for a coach to direct his team to do so.
