Have you guys noticed that Yao always has a big game the day after this board groans "give Yao the damn ball!"? Hmmm, you tell me the Rockets aren't reading out posts?:D

One play that I really liked was toward the end of the game. Mobley has the ball at the baseline and is looking to pass to Ming in the post. However, Miller is fronting Ming. So Mobley drives the baseline, using both Miller and Ming as a pick on his defender (Artest or Miller - don't remember who). End result - 2 and a foul. I thought this was a really smart play on the part of Mobley (whose BBIQ is often questioned) and hope the Rockets keep it in mind for future games.

This Brad Miller is a THUG. He has already accumulated 4 flagrant fouls in 22 games? Is he always play like that, or is Thomas trying to make a Lambeeir(sp?) out of him?

It makes you wander what if Shaq's swim have connected.

I think even from the Rockets' bench it's not possible to ignore Bill Walton singing Yao's praises. The two ESPN announcers kept asking why Houston refused to go to Yao every time down the court when we were struggling in quarters 1-3 with 30 % shooting by everybody but Yao and Francis.

Brad Miller's always played a very physical game. I remember watching him as a Hornet and thinking "Gosh, I wouldn't mind having him on the Rockets!" because he was such an uptempo, hard-nosed player. Brad Miller gets the most out of his abilities -- he fights hard for rebounds and uses his strength to guard the paint. I don't think it's anything recent with him being physical, and I don't think he's a "Thug", he's just a VERY physical, VERY tough player.

What a great game! I was lucky enough to poach some great seats about three rows off the court. Man Yao Ming is BIG...never really get an appreciation for just how big unitl you are at court level. Good crowd last night too, I was proud to be a part of it...even though there were a lot of stiff corporate types in my section who were quiet....I more than made up for it. I was dissappointed that some of the compaq staff were messing with people who were being too rowdy. The police guy on the court and an "usher" were hassling some people who were heckling the Pacers....and made them leave. What kind of treatment is that for fans who are enjoying the game...getting into it, and trying to help the team out by getting into the enemies head? God forbid we should try to bring in cowbells or something like the Kings and Mavs fans do...apparently the compaq center is too uppity for that type of behaviour?

Oh well, I had a blast...those were the best seats Ive ever had...and I even got on national tv. First during the game and afterwards I made the highlights on Sportscenter! :D

Nope...all I had in my hand was a big cup of beer! And unfortunately there wasnt a girl beside me. I was in the background in one highlight shown in slo-mo on sportscenter when Yao was running back down the court after a bucket. I was standing up and cheering enthusiastically witha huge grin on my ugly mug.:D

the part i like is when the pacer's coach ask Miller "where do you like to shoot" and he pointed, then coach said "last time, I set u up there, u didn't shoot the ball, are you going to shoot this time?" and waton joking about it say "there were a 7 footer guarding me!" :D

Did anyone see Reggie bounce off of Ming when he was cutting across the lane to get free of his man. It was the funniest thing I ever saw.

Being physical is probly all the skill he has. The dude is a thug man, he couldnt guard Yao, so he made the best of that fouling opportunity. Theres a difference between trying to prevent a 3 point play and purposely trying to hurt someone. You dont aim for the head, you aim for the arms if he was trying to prevent Yao from scoring. If you play physical, play clean, if break that rule, your a thug.

Man, after watching that play I know now why Shaq was about to take Miller's head off last year. Thank god O'Neil was there to take the worst of it or else who know, Yao might of got hurt.

I sneaked in with a 120mm camera. After I develop the picture, I'll post them in the board. Please post yours on the board if you have any. I was sitting across from where Calvin sat. It was sec124 and forgot what row that was.

brad miller, i'm not sure if he's a thug or not. 4 flagrant's is quite a bit but he just seems physical, not kenyon martin thug-like. as for the foul on ming, he did hit him in the head, but it did seem as if he was attempting to just stop the shot (like hit his arm or something) not go for the head. of course he was reckless about it and definitely deserved the flagrant. also, in the whole shaq fight thing, him fouling him a lot had a lot to do with it, but the play that sparked the fight i think had more to do with oakley than miller. oakley was the one who almost took shaq's head off on the play and even though i don't like shaq i thought his reaction was justified, he just went after the wrong guy (which is expected after your head is almost knocked off).

also, brad has some skills. he shoots well from the free-throw line, has a good touch and can rebound quite well i believe.

now ron artest, i can't stand his ass. he just seems like a b*stard through and through. from stuff i've read about off court stuff with him and some of his oncourt thuglike tendencies he just seems to think he's such a badass. and on offense, does he ever go to the whole and not just throw himself as hard as he can into the defender to try to draw a foul??? i hate people who do that.

I think that Miller is a dirty player. This is same guy that hacked Shaq last year, right?

I watched the replay and it did seem that he was going for the cheap hard foul. Unfortunately, he injured his own teammate instead of getting Ming out of the game.

Brian Grant also played very physical but he never did anything that cheap against Ming.

On the other hand, it seems that Ming is getting more and more aggressive and physical in his play, which is a surprise because he was labeled soft predraft.

ARTEST IS MEAN...did you see him holding onto the ball with Mobley? And he got ejected from the Mavs game. I'm surprised The Cat just walked away happily. Ron Artest is a sneaky one getting all those steals. They play very aggressively.

    Good game...
