How we played bothers me more than what the outcome was. Against the Jazz, at least our effort was respectable. Tonite's effort was just pitiful. I'll hold off commenting on our offensive woes for now, but as to the defense, from each of our woeful losses, one trend is becoming clear to me.

The Rox are SORELY LACKING that KILLER D for those IMPT DEFENSIVE STOPS

When the game is on the line, or when the opposition is looking to come out strong in the 3rd or 4th, where's that KILLER D that we need? How come this team is having so much difficulty clamping down on D and getting that important STOP?. With a legitimate blocking center AND a blocking power forward (EG) in the back, how come our guards aren't playing their opposing guards TIGHTER? I have the greatest respect for Charlie Ward. But how and why on Earth is he, of all people, burning us? Do the Rox even have a collective belief that they can turn up the D a notch to get that critical stop? Thus far, the answer, IMO is NO.

Why does this bother me? b/c it relates DIRECTLY to easy points on offense. I can't even remember the last time the Rox had a clean 10 POINT RUN w/in a game? We settle for trading baskets with our opponents, then when the offensive well runs dry and Yao chooses to be self-less, we choke. There's no D to even HELP with setting up runs and cheap fast-break points.

    What a total nightmare

Yao is READY. He is not aggressive enough, especially in the first half.

I'd like to see Boki play more minutes since Rice is stinking up the place with his bricks on wide open shots..I am sure he'd fit in fine on transition breaks

Can it be a strategy to lose some games to weak teams? I belive Rockets have the ability to beat strong teams.

    29.5% percent...

    I hope that we didn't break a record. :(

Well, this is what happens when you have a young team like the Rockets. Hopefully they'll learn from this and come back strong on Sunday.

Shandon Anderson goes 3 for 9 . . . and outshoots our team average. Nice.

Not really. They just beat up Magic though McGrady scores 35 points.

I would like to, but Cat is Steve's beat buddy, we mustn't
make Franchise unhappy, that is the only value Mobley has now.

Y'all got to give a break to MoT. He played his game and contributed. W/out him, the Rox would be blown by 40+pts. As I said in another thread, EG is worthless when he cant shoot. He only improved his blocking skill, other than that, he's the same player as last year. His progress was disappointing. Yao stunk. Maybe I shouldn't blame him for that he just wasn't given any spacing and my 6 yrs old cousin could pass the ball better than CAT. He didn't pass the ball to Yao when he was in good position. He passed the ball when Yao 19ft away from the basket. Rudy needs to get his a$$ chewed. He had no control of the team. He let Rice ride until the Rox dropped to the point of no return.

Can someone explain to me why Yao as a center often positions himself in the top of the kep??

The playoff picture is too bleak now.

LOL. Is 40 free throw attempts a lot? Where I was raised, that's a lot.

That was so called team plays designed by Rox coaching brains.
Starting with high pick, then make a switch, giving outside running
guards and inside posting center more spaces to create.
But it didn't work at all this time.

The 2002-2003 Houston Rockets are the worst sports team in humankind. (Not really. I just have to vent.)

SF and CM took 33 shots, YM only took 12

And yet YM was the only player of the three to shoot over 40 percent against the Knicks.

It is time FOR A CHANGE.
