MadMonk. I intended to quote you this post: What's the deal with Brad Miller? He is supposed to be one of the best centers in the league and he is 1/8 on FG's and hasn't been able to stop Yao. Is our man that much better?

    Can't edit. :(

plays of the game were two blocks.

    1. steve getting up and rejecting a dunk attempt on one of the kings bigmen. it wasn't from behind or the side either, it was straight up. i'm sure steve is the only pg in the league that can block a shot like that.

    2. brad miller, 3 feet from the basket, thinks he's wide open, yao comes from behind and swats the ball straight down to the court. i think he could have grabbed it in mid-air.

    other observations.

for the thousandth time, nachbar is not a stiff. dude can play and hopefully this game will open up more consistent shooting. 3 threes in a row plus an angry little dunk.

gater- peja didn't seem to be into the offense that much, i think jackson guarded him about as much as boki though.

steve might have ended up with 1 assist but played brilliantly. i'm sure yetti or someone will chalk that up to being selfish but he was far from it tonight.

i can see yao getting 20 and 10 easy this year. the improvement he's made from just the last game of last year to his first pre-season game is amazing and the mark of a true superstar.

Thanks for the Boki clip. It's very nice to see our sf can shoot back to back 3's then drive in for a slam.

As always, winning covers everything in this league ;)

Let's not get too high on the wins, too down on the loses. After all, it's still preseason.

Yao owned Brad Miller. Had two great blocks, and it seems Miller couldn't get a decent shot with Yao on him. He looked very frustrated tonight.

Nachbar played well today, finally starting to hit those 3's, and had two great dunks on the 4th.

Steve and Moochie played great, and Cato even though 1/5, had 12 rebounds.

    Great game!

We won back to back against Sacramento and we're playing without major contributors....

    Cat
    EG
    Mo T
    Piatkowski
    A. Griffin

Sac was without CWebb, but the point is that we could be very good but it's still way too early.

You forgot the block by Cato. Threw the dunk attempt out of bounds.

well including his 77 minutes from last season, i've now seen boki play for 77 minutes and 4 seconds thanks to that clip, but for some reason seeing that clip and just knowing he at least has that kind of play in him gives me some confidence in the guy. throw in the good reviews he's been getting for D and rebounding from people who can watch the guys and maybe this guy will be something one day. i hope he is. this team has so much potential. if we ever live up to it, the rest of the league should be scared.

The game was great. Steve and Yao are all-stars. Great defense. We had a 5-0 edge on BS during the game. We played good perimeter defense (A Griffin, EG and Mobley sitting out) Great overall defense. Cato is much improved from last year. Boki had a great game. He really surprised me. That dunk was pretty nasty. good ball movement. They spread the ball. Mooch 15 pts. Rox did not give up the lead in the 4th with Steve and Yao on the bench.

Guys, it is still only preseason. Are you ready for Rocketball?!?

    :D

Francis/Yao carry most of the load...

Supporting players are interchangeable, as long as you play as a *team.*

Make you woner if Cat will come off the bench? Heh...:p

Rockets improves to 23-4 when Yao has 3 or more blocks.
