Doesnt it just feel great when the Rockets win. I dont see any bashing tonight. By the way, Yao is the player of the game.

They are playing a swarming defense. Everybody is rolling towards the ball. ALSO YAO and CATO have been shutting down the lane

i don't wanna be a nitpick, but 17 assists? and francis only had 1. surprised we got the win heh..well, i didn't watch the game, but perhaps the ball movement was better than stats show.

that just goes to show you that stats dont always tell the whole story.
the ball movement was good...and SF passed the ball....but your teammates have to hit the shots immediatley in order for it to be counted as an assist....for the entire first half Boki and JJ couldnt hit the broad side of the barn.

and then, SF wasnt always playing the point..

you guys really need to get over our fascination with assists.

they played well as a team and won the game.
    thats all that matters.

Don't worry about that. They stop calling that 10 games in. VG knows what he's doing.

ok, for any that have this problem.

I re-encoded the clip to clean it up a little...so its in mpeg2 form.

go here for the mpeg2 codec

IMO Boki is an above average defender. He difinitely took care of business on Peja. He also played great team defense - switch and contesting everything.

I am mad now even more for those who never saw him play last year who said he sucked defensively and that he was too slow. Where are they now. Boki is now at best a glorified Rookie and in spite of that his defense is arguably better than the improving Steve Francis D.

Bokis doing great - rebound well, good ball handling, good defense, above average decision maker and good passer. All he needs now is more confidense, experience and lady luck in the shooting department.

IMHO he has indeed out-played Peja in the last 2 games but it is ONLY pre-season; but even that is worth celebrating for a young lad many around here never gave a chance (yes...including RudyT).

ya know...I really do feel that he is playing good.
but even in the first game aganist Sac, I saw quiet a few times where he would get fakedout by Peja, who would turn around and miss the easy shot.
I'm not saying that Boki had no impact on his bad shooting, but the Rook still has some learning to do before he can be classified to "above average defender".
Is he better than advertised over the last year? yes, definitely.
and I really believe he has the tools and JVG will teach him how to use them.

You gotta give props to the entire team tho...their team D has gotten better...and we dont even have all the starters back yet.

this could be a good year imo.

    :)

Gotta love the win. Just wish I'd seen the game. Hope it continues to the regular season.

The Kings starters played fewer minutes. Did ours outplay them when they were in the game?

Kings two all-star centers, Divac and Miller, shot a combined 7-30 (23.3%) in the last two games. Yao shot 13-21 (61.9%).

    :)
