Let´s kill to the Putah Guazzz

    My fantasy game:

1- Francis scores 50 points over Stockton´s face
2- Griffin put up 10 blocks ( all on Malone)
    3- Posey play 20+ minutes
    4- Yao does a triple-double
5- Rockets win over Jazz by 30 points

But the fu**er reality can be:

1- Jazz win 90-89 on overtime
2- Yao Ming dont´t "rasca" bola and he shots 8 times (or minus)
3- Francis don´t play defense and he make 8 turnovers
    4- Posey play 4 minutes
    5- Cuttino shots well (4-22)WOW!
6- Maurice Taylor don´t take any rebound
7- The Rockets again plays streetball basket and Tomjanovich say "We don´t have good luck. The shots there was no maded.
8- 10.500 people goes to the Compaq, or worst, the Compaq is full to see how the Jazz beat Rockets agaaain.
9- Moochie Norris don´t play defense and Stock give 15 assists on 25 minutes. (And Stevie of course, too.)
10- I´m "hasta los huevos de los Putah Jazz "

Tonight, it's the Francis and Ming show. It has to be. Everyone else, just play defense and get rebounds.

Something I hate about the media:

If we win, Rockets have won 4 of 5.

If we lose, we're on a 2 game losing streak.

    There's another reason to win.

I just hate the freakin' Jazz. The fact that they're going after Andre Miller, and I hope they get him, will just prolong the rivalry.

    Shhh...Dani...don't Jinx it!

My 5 & 11/12ths yr old daughter has become a huge Rox fan, since I took her to a game earlier this year. She's a big Yao fan. Yao and Francis. This will be the one where she learns to boo the bad guys.

Foster? You mean Greg Foster? He has been at least traded twice since the last time he was on Jazz's roster.

Greg Ostertag is only 280 Lb but he is big and good shot blocker.
He does play pretty good season (to his standard) so far.

I wondered about that too. Harpring? Massenburg? Mark Jackson?
I bet you is Andrei Kirilenko will just be another player if he were a Rocket (see Shandon Anderson, Antoine Carr). But for some weird reason that system or that City happens to bring out the best in average players. I do not hate them like many here do (I dislike the T-wolves more) because of the style of play. They may be dirty atimes but the play as a team.

Maybe the credit should got to Stockton/Mallon and their oft underrated coach, Jerry Sloan.

Francis usually does well against them - back when zone defense was not in vogue. The only way we could win is to continue to make the extra pass and playing a committed defense. I hope we don't start slow like we have done a whole this season because the Utah Jazz is full of NBA Vets - come backs are usually not easy against them.

They played last night maybe that will slow them down a bit coupled with the fact that our team play much better at home.

Last night I was watching the Jazz beat-up on the Grizz
and one of the commentators got Pau Gasol's name wrong...

They had Pau's picture and stats on the screen and he was
commentating on the half-time game stats....

He said, "Here are the half-time stats for Yao Gaso....errr, Pau Gasol..."

    :D

Lots of Yao in the paint, lots of open looks for Rice and Mobley, lots of Franchise penetration, lots of zone defense, lots of mismatches...all of these things should be exploited tonite. Yao can fake Osterag out of his shoes. Honestly, one kidney or two, that guys a joke. Rice and Mobley will get open looks, and i don't see both of them having back to back miserable shooting nites. There's no one on that team that can keep stevie in front of them, he could have a field day. We should get a few mismatches int he post..we must take advantage...it oculd help to get Rice and Taylor going....and who wouldn't like to see some serious Yao Ming swats....

Just watched the sixth game between Rockets and Jazz at the West final in 1997 on NBA TV. My heart is broken! Where was the Dream in the 4th Q? And I have to say that Greg Ostertag is really strong. A good test for Ming tonight.

I think you meant "bad" instead of "strong". :)

People can hate the Jazz for whatever reason they want, but besides the favoritism in the calls at home, they play basketball the way its supposed to be played. Call me old school or whatever, but I like seeing the execution and precision at which they play. They have never been a very talented team, but they always play hard and smart. On paper we should beat the tar out of them, but they have some nice players as always.

Malone- Too strong for Griffin, to quick for Taylor
Andrei- A high energy, do everything type player. Once again it seems we don't have this type of player with this kind of skill
Harpring- Stays in the system ,having a great yr of course(he's in Utah), and always knows his limitations.
Stockton- Old, not a very good defender, but still runs the offense and seems like he never misses a shot.

The rockets are playing at home and seems to have a decided advantage. I hope they can run them Jazz off the court and get it over early, but if its like the playoff series like Jazz-Kings last yr, we might be on this board talking about Rudy,Cuttino or Steve's lack of finishing games. I really hope they win.

P.S. Pay attention how Utah gets the rebound and push the ball up the court. Watch how if the wing players don't get the ball they circle under the goal and get right into the offense. Also watch the guard down pick to malone. I wish the rockets could steal this to use with Ming.

As I was walking out of my building downtown this afternoon - guess who I saw?

Across the street at the Four Seasons was the Utah Jazz team bus leaving. I saw Malone, Ostertag, and Mark Jackson. I didn't get to say too much to them, just a few "You are going to lose tonight" taunts. Jackson had several bags full of gifts, Malone and Ostertag were already on the bus. There was a couple of scrubs trying to get autographs - made me sick. :)

No pics.... I wouldn't have taken them even if I had my camera, I wouldn't want to break it.

    We win!

Eddie Griffin will do good on defense against aging Karl Malone.
Steve Francis will do good against aging John Stockton.
Glen Rice will need to keep up with Harpring.
Yao will need to work hard against Greg Ostertag.
Cuttino Mobley will have an easy night.

Posey will have plenty of time to play.

    Thanks.

During the 96-98 seasons, if the Rocket or Bulls weren't playing, I'd
watch the Jazz because of the reason's you stated.

The rest of the leagued sucked at that time. SA was decent when
they got TD. But, other than that. Sloppy play.

By the way, if the Rockets come into this game thinking that
it's going to be a cake walk and they are going to run over Malone
and Stockton because they are "old" they have another thing coming!

If they aren't ready (DEFENSE) for this team, they are going to get
    whupped!

T-Minus 40:00 till the assault begins.

Francis will give Stockton all types of hell tonight, count on it.
Only the quickest PGs in the league can stay with Stevie.
Stockton we be at his mercy.

Okay, now Mr. K-K-Karl M-Malone(anyone seen that malone skit on the man show, its a riot and right on the money),
Well, hes been pretty much reduced to a spot up shooter, so EG/MoT should be able to run his ass ragged in transition.

And as far as Osterfag is concerned, he is the whinneyest 7footer to ever place this game. Chamberlain would have done slapped the whine off his face.

Sloans offense is very effective, but the kicker is Stocktons vision and passing abilities, as much as I HATE to say it. Hes one of top guards of HIS time and I hate him for it.

Now that the hate is gone:

Rox cruise to a 107-89 trashing of these Utah Jackasses.

The only reason the Jerks ever won those series against the Dream&Co. was because of all the b****ing and moaning, kicking and scratchingand elbow-throwing then throwing themselves on the floor, period.
