I agree with everything you said but I am not shocked at all. It's been happening since the start of the season. Played excellent vs. above .500 team but played horrible vs. cellar-dweller teams.

oops moomoo, i may have been wrong. im watching the Laker game right now and they kinda just set up and dump it down to the big fella. But Horry and Kobe seem to do most of the passing to Shaq down low.

So what does it take to keep a guy like Brian Grant from fronting Yao. Yao can only do so much, he cant keep repositioning or else he'll set up farther out or get called for an offensive foul. But All the Rockets had to do is burn Grant one or two times with a nice lob to Yao and he'll never front Yao again. Theres no way a coach should have his guards trying to throw lob passes over a fronting 6/10 Grant, you need a guy like Eddie Griffin or Mo Taylor, a tall player, that will have much better accuracy because he can see over the defender. Horry use to do this for Olajuwon. I dont know why Rudy didn't have Eddie or Mo do this for Yao.

Don't you think that the reason Yao's not bashed much on this board is that he's a rookie (that means he will learn and improve) and generally he didn't do too much wrong?

And just to remind you, you are also a post-May 2002 joined poster. ;)

Not if he said something not so stupid. After a loss like that, he blame Yao, the only guy shooting over .50? How about the season before May 2002? Rox won 28 game whole season! Yao has weaknesses, a lot of people realize that. But the problem of not getting into playoff is not on Yao, but on the guards, on the coach. The problem was here before May 2002, and the problem is still here, because Rox has not realized the Yao is the solution. Look at the games Yao was involved and played well, Rox win 9 out of 10. When Yao is not involved, this team is just like the team in previous seasons. Somewhere down the road, Yao has to learn how to force himself into the game, because his low IQ teamates keep forgetting that.

this really hurts, i spend much much more time on "watching" this team

than what i am supposed to do, and i can't even watch the game,

most of the time, i was in the stupid chat room and read the

stupid play by play live, and then spent more time on the bbs reading

how stupid the team , the coach, the players were and are.

What do I get? Nothing except that my wife hates me sitting in

front the computer and my 15 months kid waiting for his father to

    play with him...... forever.

Why it's so hard to be a fan of this team??????? is it too much to

ask for a winning game over a bad team? I feel myself disgusting

    and pathetic. it sucks

Where are your emails to me for the petition (jgatlin@houston.rr.com)? If you have to ask then you need to go back a page or two in the thread...

Civil disobedience and group advocacy are not philosophical arguements. If you're really a student of philosophy, you should recognize that. If you are, then I hope you realize that what we need is someone like Frederick Nietzche, who believes that power is the real motivator!!!!!!

Anyway, let's leave academia behind and just focus on getting Rudy's ASS FIRED!! PLEASE!

I can't friggin believe it like the rest of you guys. I didn't see the game, but I'm reading the box score...

    Francis - 27pts., 6 for 18, 3 T.O., 1 Assist???
    Mobley - 10 pts., 3 for 10, 3 Assists
    Yao - 10 pts., 4 for 8, 3 Assists, 8 Rebs.
    Griffin - 14 pts. 6 for 13, 12 rebs.
    Posey - 2 for 10, 3 T.O.
    Taylor - 2 for 10

What the hell happened? Stevie scored 27, but had 3.T.O. and 1 assist? Obviously Stevie was off, Mobley was off, Yao was off, Posey was off, Taylor was off, Griffin looks like he played.

Instead of finger pointing, I think the team must have collectively played horrendous...

    33% FG%
    10 Assists?

Then again, maybe it's reasonable to point fingers because this is absurd. To many times have the Rox disappointed.

    Also:

the spurs have players that know their roles. they get players who will fit to their need. not like the rox who gets players based on whether they can do one-on-one/isolation play.

Rockets could lose to cleveland, of course they could lose to Miami.

steve, yao, cat all got problems, I don't blame them. When the whole did not do well, blame the coach.

All rockets can do are simply running and shooting, basically 0 offensice strategy; the most pathetic is YAO, every time he has to struggle to the position with his back to the basket. These have been happening too long, I did not see any improvement. I don't know what they practice,

Rockets is simply low level, they don't play like a team.

How can we go from holding the best FG% shooting team in the league to 38% (on the road) to allowing the 2nd to worst FG% shooting team in the league to shoot 52% (at home) in a span of 3 days?

I'm disgusted and confused... It's sooo hard to be a fan this past month or so...

I feel your pain my brother. We just love our Rockets and that feeling you get when they lose.I have always said that if they played hard or if Rudy at least ran 1-play in the game then I could accept the losses but its just they way they are playing and losing that hurts me.I Love this team, I am new to the BBS but have been a true-true fan since 1980. We just want them to win and this BBS has been the best remedy or medicine for me to take that horad feeling of losing and especially to sorry teams. It doesn't take it away completely but it sure helps to post. And for bashing different players, I believe thats a right that we should have on this BBS. Yes I love Yao, but if you wanna bash him then do so... I just think that he is not allowed to play due to a sorry a.. coach :)

I agree that yao should be more aggressive. So sadly, we have a softy rudy. When can we get a tougher coach? If only moses got the chance to coach yao, things would be different.
Fire softy rudy or trade yao, we will have peace forever.
