I was at the game too, best $10 I have EVER spent. I agree about the bobbleheads. They do look rushed but at least they are not plastic. My friend and I first sat at our Sec. 240 seat for like half of the first quarter then moved down to Row A at Section 127. I was able to catch for few giveaways (shirt and a Gallery Furniture Net cap) and had a great view of the cheerleaders :) .

The halftime show was pretty spectacular. There was a couple that were magicians and damn, they had the whole crowd in awww. Even got a standing ovation by the WHOLE arena once they finished. After the first timeout in the 3rd quarter, Clutch and Turbo tried to do the same tricks and it was just flat out hilarious.

After the game, about half the people left and Francis thanks the fans and threw out a few more giveaways. Gene was at midcourt with CD and had an interview with him, much of the same stuff we have all heard before. Then they showed a history of the Rockets since they arrived in the Summit/Compaq Center. Had some good moments from the late 70s/early 80s, with lots of footage of Calvin, Moses, Sampson, and Rudy. They even had interviews with KC Jones, Walton, CD, and few others. Of course they had to show the championship years. Then they showed Francis press conference and the announcing of drafting Yao.

I swear I was the only one shouting when they had all of the good moments. During the video, the ushers let us go on the court level, and managed to sit near the Grizzlies bench during the video. Afterwards, walked around the court and took some pics near the court. One funny moment was a group of guys were jumping at one of the baskets and one of the guys jumped up with his bobblehead on one of his hands and dropped it on the way down. Everybody was laughing hysterically at him. That was pretty much it for the night. All in all a historic night and not one to be forgotten.

Here are some of the pics I took

Larry is a sad person!
Meaningless game. Don't know what he is trying to prove?!
Last home game. No time for Tito, Hawk, Boki!!

The Cat got his usual 42 mins.
Rice and Mooch sux and they got 22 and 16 mins, do they still need to prove their game?

Larry Smith is not very smart, period. If he wants to prove something, he should not do it because there are about 10 games left for him to mess around! 10 games is not enough to change a team no matter how much he likes it. You need at least half a season for players to adapt to your regime.

If I were Larry Smith, I would just follow Rudy's routine, make small adjustment and try to make the playoff. I won't change the minutes for each players and I won't change the substitution pattern as well. Larry probably was so excited to have the head coach position that he forgot he only had 10 games left! The one-on-one defense he asked Yao to do against Shaq just totally wore Yao off. You do not ask a ROOKIE center to defend the most dominating center one-on-one, period! It is really a stupid move.

Then the minutes given to Cato, well, if there are 30 games left, I might understand it. But hey, only 10 games, why mess up the chemistry?

Boki played SOOOOO MUCH this season that I'm afraid when we finally put him in, he'll pull a Matt Maloney on us.

I'm glad that that Smith played the starters extended minutes to make sure that the Rockets sent the Compaq Center out with a victory. The reserves were stinking it up after halftime...

Now that I remember correctly, the reserves stank it up in the second quarter, not after halftime...they were lucky the Nuggets were playing so poorly in the 2nd...

Because I sat about 6 seats from Yao Ming for the final game, he wanted to be taken out, he is tired.

After tonights game he has to stick around for the Co-ROY award and then fly back to China to practice more.

I ask you how does one replenish the energy he will need to play with the team next year.
Francis made a comment last night to Calvin and Bill he said:
Les has given the team a program to condition and get better for the "whole" team to do and Francis was gonna enforce it.
Now how does the whole team get better when are Star center is off to China doing something else because he has to.

What makes you come to this conclusion. Larry Smith is not doing anything that Rudy Tomjanovich would not do.
