Wait, so which kind am I? I was a little confused by that post cuz it didn't look like you were addressing anything or anyone specifically...

Anyways, back to the topic at hand. I don't understand what everyone's point is. If you're at least agreeing with me that this team is better with Francis in the lineup, then what do you want from him? I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I agree that Francis should be moved to the 2 from PG, but then what would happen to the team? Do you honestly think anybody could run the point better than Steve on this team right now? Our backup PGs are crap.

For one thing, though, what's wrong with a scoring PG? Scoring has to come from somewhere, why not have the point help out? Especially when no one else has proved they can consistently help us out on the offensive end. This is also the PG who also still gets more apg than 20 of the league's starting point gaurds. I agree that he's not a perfect PG, and would be much more effective as just a great scoring option at the 2, but he can be an effective player at his position, not just in scoring. We've seen so many times that when he breaks a certain assist barrier (7), we almost always get the win, and when he does do it, his offense is still there as well. Maybe him shooting well helps the rythm of the whole team, and no, not just because he becomes the whole team. He hasn't shown us the ability to do this consistently, but I gaurantee you it'll happen more often with him than with anyone else on this team. That's all I'm saying, that there's no one else that can take his position right now, and I don't want Mobley coming off the bench (it's too late to trade him, people).

And that win agaisnt Pheonix didn't come from "team ball", btw, if you recall, the team collected only 19 assists. Barely over average. I'd say a big part of it was doubling the Sun's rebound total.

Ok, I dont think the team is better with out francis.

    1. look at the stats. they speak for them selves, (with/ without francis)

    2. look at the last game against the Mavericks. Steve was illing with a soar back, and he was ineffective. hence we lost, we had to reserve to moochie norris who didnt do too much. A healthy Steve francis would be increased our chances of winning that game no matter how you look at it. But I know that the mavs have beat us many times before, but just speaking of the last game, steve would of made our team better. it is essentail that we find a leader, which steve should take the role of, if we are to be highly successful.

True. But you can't forget to look at the ebb and flow the of the offense. You know when it's off, and when it's not. Open shots, are good shots, even if they don't go in (yes!). This is because there is obviously something going good in the offensive flow that are allowing those open shot to presents themselves. Playing the odds in our favor. Shot attempts are great as long as most are open/high percentage (even if a few are air-balls). It all depends on how the TEAM is playing.

The points one gives up from open-shots that are air-balls, are way different than forced-shots and UNFORCED TURNOVERS from many of Francis's methods (dribbling off his foot, passing to some guy in the stands, getting the ball striped on one of Francis's "brilliant" fast-break attacks).

And the reason that the offesnive was flowing was because Moochie/Tito were distributing the ball at the right times. Again, TEAM work.

    you're type 1 and the X is Franchise.:D

I remember you complained about too much negativity on this board after a win.

now this is a win and you're unhappy. why? because the rest of rockets played better without Franchise last night. and you're unhappy with people pointing out this fact. for me, this is no different from some Yao-only fans complaining about Yao not being involved enough after a win. :p

Actually, I was plenty happy with the win and all of our gaurds' performance until I saw this board, with people like you attributing the win to Francis' absence. Any real Rockets fan, or even basketball fan, would be pissed about that cuz it's bullsh!t. I'm not unhappy about the win, I'm "unhappy" about massive amounts of stupidity on display on this board.

I support every Rocket on this team, want them all to improve, and they're they're all potential badasses... except for Glen Rice... he can go to hell.

Oh, and by the way, the negativity I was complaining about was the same kind of negativity I'm complaining about now.
