moron...cat's a good shooter and can often hit that shot, which he did shortly after. Quit picking out the few negative things he did in that game and try and realize he put the game away with that long 2.

My favorite part was when Tommy said only a dumb basketball team would not figure out how to get Ming the ball... Maybe it's the Rock's version of reverse psychology - don't pass it to him and fake them out... I think the intimidation he did in the first quarter ( our first game against Boston this year I think) lasted the whole game and was a big part of the win. Ming just made it so much easier for the other players on O, they get more room on their outside shots when there rotating the ball around on the outside, and most of the time Boston looked hesitant inside unless they had Ming out of position.

Cat made a lot of stupid plays in addition to some nice outside shots. We could make a low lite reel - multiple drives on three to four Celtics where he didn't pass to an open man, I think he scored on one of six of those, and it was a circus layup where he was falling down. Five turnovers in addition to those bad shot decisions. He did much better on set plays - I think he and Francis executed much better the less they dribbled with few exceptions.

They front Yao tonight and play a zone around him. The Rockets unable to get him the ball because our players haven't use to throw the lop pass. A couple of time they lop it in and the ball got stolen. Need to get some more practice of how to throw that lop pass otherwise team will start to front Yao all the time. Tonight Boston did make it tough to throw it into Yao since their weak side help is almost right behind Yao because they playing a zone. Also need to learn how to break down the zone when they start to play zone around Yao like Dallas did. Overall, our guard hit some tough clutch shot down the wire for the win. A win is a win so can't complain.

It's pretty obvious to this unbiased observer that it's Rudy's coaching that won tonights game. Starting Posey was pure genius.

Let me get this straight, people are bashing Mobley for being a gun and and poor passer tonight, yet he shot about 50% from the field and nearly scored 30 points, and had 6 assist? He made a few silly turnovers tonight no doubt, but come on.

Amen, RocksMillenium...Cuttino had an all around game that any player could be proud of (24 pts, 9-18 from the field with 2-5 from 3, 6 reb, 6 ast, 3 stl, 5 TO), minus the turnovers. However, he had enough steals and strips to make up for the TO's, I think. Cat's overall game was good enough to make up for his mistakes.

yeah but he didn't pass to yao twice on the pnr which apparently is the most unforgivable sin on the bbs, not getting yao the ball. and plus, if they mention the 24/6/6 stat line on 50% shooting, then they don't get to b**** as much about their most hated player which would be horrible to not do after a win. how come no one is PO'd that yao didn't take that 3 foot shot and instead passed it to steve who was 20 ft away. oh yeah, b/c yao can do no wrong. i can't stand how much our guards are hated on this board. it's ****ing ridiculous.

Thanks for free preview of NBA pass, finally watched a Rockets game after a long drought. Man, this team plays ugly, the guards are stupid they play like Celtics even though Boston has no center, getting themselves into a 3/long-2 point shooting competiton. Where are the improvements in the guards' play???? I don't think Rockets can go anywhere, maybe they will miss the playoff. I certainly hope I am wrong, maybe I am biased since I am essentially a Yao-only fan.

When the Celtics made there comeback, he played poorly, when we finished him off he looked pretty good. It looks pretty stupid IMHO if you drive on three to four guys and don't pass to an open big guy under the basket and I'm somewhat frustrated with the learning curves some of our players are exhibiting. I've praised Cat in games in which he didn't get much boxscorewise and we won or lost, BTW, it's just I got to see the whole game on TV and when the score was close and it looked like he wanted to take on the entire Celtics team, I wanted him benched to make him calm down.

These Yao bandwagoners are liabilities to this forum.

All they want to see is Yao becomes god by scoring a lot of points and rebounds. Never mind Rockets lose.

Get the hell out of here, you Yao bandwagoners! Go to Yao Ming Mania board.

It's great that Steve and Cat played well. And Yao's blocking!

    cmellon,

Next time someone else disagrees with you, do the following
    1) label him/her first (e.g label him as a Yao-only fan or Yao bandwagoner or whatever).
    2) yell them to get out of your way or stick your head into the sand just as an ostrich will do.

on nba league pass..the celtic announcers were going ga-ga over yao...tommy heinson said something to the effect that yao will be the equal of WILT....in the 3rd quarter he said yao should have 25pts by now....he went on to say how the bucks uses to have 6 different ways to get kareem/lew the ball where he liked it...they kept harping on how the guards wouldnt pass yao the ball when he was wide open..."how can you miss a guy that big!"...and my favorite...any team that cant get a 7'5 guy the ball on a pick and roll is a STUPID team...:) see we arent the only ones saying it...

ridiculous. mobley played great tonight. if you want to pick apart every single move the guy makes so be it but understand that nobody is a friggin robot. look at pierce, he easily forced more jacks up than cat and took it blindingly into the rockets defense with nowhere to go many times. all said and done though, the celtics almost came back behind him and he's still a superstar. cat hit clutch shots, made nice passes twice in the 4th to a wide open tmo who nailed them, and played intense defense. you simply cannot possibly ask for more from him.

is it me or was this a sweet, well-played win for the rockets? i wouldn't call boston an easy team and the way those 3's started to go in they could have beaten most anybody tonight. why is it then that i have to read through negative bs after negative bs after a WIN?

as for yao bandwagoners, please, please go away.
