Also since adjusting his game going into the New Orleans game Mobley is averaging 23.5 ppg off of 57% shooting (he also shot 57% in the New Orleans game), is shot 60% from 3pt range against Milwaukee, dishing off about 3 assist per game, and an average of about 5.5 rpg. Not bad for a guy who supposedly couldn't adjust.

Great win for the Rockets. For those that keep asking about Yao dribbling behind the back. He almost lost the ball, then recovered it, went behind the back and went up for the layup and was foul in the process. I beleived he made both free throws though.

The story tonight with out a doubt was Steve Francis. He read the Defense better than he ever has ( that I can remember; and I've seen every game of his since he's been with the Rockets). He let the game come to him and was beating the Bucks mostly by himself in the third quarter.

    Excellent game for the FRANCHISE!

Please put yourself in their shoe before you make some bulls**t like this, they are human beings, not machine, they do need to rest or spend time with their family members just like you, and they get paid nothing by running this website. Instead of making some nonsense you can also do something. wipe off your sh*t

The look on the face of the guy who was guarding yao when he made the pass to cat was the same look that you see in a lot of HS bball games from overmatched players, you know the look, it says "OMG I didn't think that was possible, and it just happened to me"

The pictures from thehkmint were way early in the first quarter.

Yao faked to his left, then lost EJ by spinning 180 to the right and rocketed to the basket for a single-hand jam on the rim. Beautiful and powerful move.

That was the fastest I've ever seen him pull that move. It was pretty fun.:)

What a great game. Here's my random thoughts during the game:

When Rice is out there in the 1st Qtr, the Rockets are playing 4 on 5 defense. He can't rotate fast enough when everyone is fresh. (Or he's saving his legs for his shot.)

The Bucks totally gameplanned for Yao tonight. If Yao had played more than he did, the score would have been much closer. The Bucks didn't know who to guard in the 2nd Qtr. They tried to adjust after halftime, but then Rudy put Yao back in.

Everytime Yao dunks now, I think, "That's Dy-NASTY!"

The Bucks post play talent sucks. They should have traded Glenn Robinson for one of the ATL centers. Cato dominated.

16,000+ party horns are loud. Pure genius.

Most chinese fans looked confused when Lil Romeo came out during halftime.

Eddie confuses me. He doesn't hesitate to take the three, but when he's one step to the basket with a lane, he looks to pass.
He needs to grow some man balls.

Cheerleaders who go into the stands to throw giveaways need to stop throwing like girls. Get it past row C, you "power" dancer.

Somtimes I feel bad when they play the YaoMing song. No one else has their own song.

That was a really fast game. I guess few fouls were called, which was great. Fans in the upper section were great. Thanks for the fun night.

This contradicts with what Cassel said: "He’s a force to be reckoned with. He’ll get better with time. Eventually you will have to double team him and that creates a lot of matchup problems. What I really like about him the most, if you move, he will definitely get you the ball."

I thought Moochie also has his song. Care to sing Moochie song instead? :D

My observations about the game (thanks to heypartner for selling me the tickets):

The Rockets won the game because they were shooting lights out and the Bucks are simply are terrible team defensively. Francis was on fire tonight and I don't think any defense could have stopped him. The Bucks weren't helped by the fact that Jason Caffey seemed to have the impression that he was a good ballhandler.

Considering the weak Bucks frontcourt, you would think that the Rockets would have looked to use Ming early. But I think Ming only got a few touches in the first quarter. Ming really only seemed to get the ball consistently once the lead was over 20. However, his dunk in the 2nd quarter was pretty wicked and his backdoor pass to Mobley was also great.

All of the Rockets were guilty of shooting before someone was in position for a rebound. Normally, Francis and Mobley are the ones lambasted for this, but Rice also made this mistake during the game too.

With a runner and finisher like Posey on the team now, the Rockets need to run the break more.

Play of the game: right before the end of the half, Rockets score with 0.8 sec left. The Bucks throw the ball into Cassell who is smothered by Posey. Cassel loses the ball and in one motion, Posey grabs it and heaves it at the buzzer. Ball goes in and the Rockets get a bonus 2 pts.

Overall, the game was a good win and if the Rockets can just pass the ball around a little more, I think the team is headed in the right direction.

My observations about the stuff going on around the game:

The Yao Ming Fan Club could not have been more comatose. I don't know if George Karl slipped some Nyquil in their nachos or if they were irreversibly silenced when the Rockets wouldn't pass Yao the ball in the first quarter, but they were about as enthusiastic as a vegetarian at a butcher shop.

The horns that were passed out for New Years were a potent way to irritate the opposing team when they were shooting free throws. Unfortunately, some fans seemed to think they would help the Rockets with their free throws - although they did seem to figure out the error of their ways after their cacophony helped Cato miss two freebies.

The Rockets drummers looked like the Insane Clown Posse and had about the same amount of talent. They were also very flammable with all their makeup and hairspray so if they had tried spraying the silly string on me (like they did to other fans), I would have borrowed my friend's lighter. . . .

There was one Rockets dancer who just could not get the routines right. Think Alex Van Halen in the
    Hot for Teacher video.

Just want to add, I also got to meet riet at the game. He and heypartner are now the only ones who know what I look like. I guess that means my career dreams as a faceless bandito are doomed.

I don't think that shot counted because time ran out.

    My observation of the game:
    >EG had zero impact on inside offense. Nice D but no contribution whatsoever for the offense except jacking up threes. I was about to throw a dead rat to the court. Yao dribbled through the defense, then a nifty spin move and passed the ball to EG. And he aired the shot! For god's sake, isn't it time to learn how to score inside?

    >JP again shifted the momentum of the game, maybe the most poised player in the team now. Tenacious rebounder!

    >Rice made me believe A.Mason was a point guard (horribly ineffective and slow). I don't know how long RT would keep him in the starting line-up.

    >There were more Chinese in the game than any other races?! Where are all the other Rockets fans?? I can only hear people speaking Chinese. I guess very soon they may start having a Chinese version of score board.

    >Sam Cassel and Cat must be separated at birth. I know Cat is much better looking.:) They both carry the ballhog gene. It must be the reason why BigDog left the Bucks. No two ballhogs can exist together. I still don't think the Rox can win many games if Cat still plays the way he's playing now.

    >I got more excited than anything else when Boki hit the 15ft jumper. But he almost aired a three. But he'll get there. Just upset with Rudy's comment "Let's look at Boki as the 2003 number one pick for the Houston.".

    >Yao needs to stop passing the damn ball when he's close enough to put a skyhook.

    >The Rox showed improvements on spacing.

    >It seems to me Rudy still "MILKS" the same ineffective gameplan.

    >The game took roughly 2 hours to finish.

Hot shooting covers a multitude of sins. If the Rockets consistently shoot 50+% they will win most games. HOWEVER, if Gene Peterson's radio commentary is any indication, the Rocket's fundamental problems are unchanged. Examples: "too much one on one," "not enough passing," "too much dribbling," and "no defense." We won big, BUT, until these problems change, we won't win consistently.

I was looking at the game recap on Yahoo. It mentioned that Mo Taylor left in the 3rd quarter after he tightened his Achilles' tendon. This is bad news even though he has been playing poorly.
He is not fit and I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up on the injured list. I feel it's going to be very hard for him to regain the fitness level that he had prior to his injury when he was an effective player for us.

Last night game was different. We played a great inside out game but with our guards instead of Yao. Francis was penetrating at will on the bucks and made all the right decisions when he got into the paint. That is why he got 9 assists in 3 quarters of play. I also only saw Cat force one bad shot, he was more agressive about getting to the rack and kicked the ball out many times as well. This game was played well except for some of the turnovers. However, turnovers came from trying to make the extra pass and not from dribbling to much.

On side note, Boki really has great first step. I think he finally getting healthy. He will be a force. I hope he doesn't settle on the 3 too much though because I think his game is mid range and going to the hoop.
