Great game. Everyone contributed. Portland is a bigger team, but we played very well defensively. I knew it. Someone'll step up. Sorry for my comments about SF. But CAT still sucked. He is a true leader.

Just looking at the game log/box score on ESPN it seemed as though Francis is really learning when to take over the game and when to let it flow. In the third and at the start of the fourth he didn't appear to be doing to much scoring wise, just distributing the ball a bit, but when it ame to crunch time and the game was close, he took things into his own hands and hit some huge shots down the stretch. Too bad he couldn't ice it with that second free throw :D . Oh well he has to give the haters something to b**** about ;)

I agree on Griffin though, how crucial were those two blocks on (I think both of them were on) Sabonis?? on layups none the less.

Unfortunately Mobes had an off night, but it was good to see that other players picked up the offensive load when he couldn't. And more importantly, not a huge breakout, but a good game by Ming. Didn't miss a shot, no fouls, a handful of boards, a couple of assists and a block - all in 14 minutes! Still would have like to have seen him play for perhaps another 5 minutes or so, but it is much, much better than some of the other games so far this season.

Go Griff, Go Francis, Go Ming, Go Mobes ( :( - hit back next game) Go Rockets.

edit: Almost forgot (how could I forget this?) how good was Hawkins D? Go Hawk as well!!

let's don't foreget YAO for the second.

He shoot 100% FG and 100% FT and he is merely got his foot wet!

a sleeping giant and wait until he wakes up!

Good win, zone defense looked shaky at first but worked out great against Trailblazers' zero shooter offense. The offense was smooth the second half and luckily pulled one out.
We beat a pretty good team today albeit the fact that they played a back to back. I think Houston is beginning to gel a little better now, especially on D.

I wasn't able to see the game.. could only follow the stats on nba.com...

So who put the 2-14 defensive pasting on Rasheed Wallace?

    David.

Cat sucks, (a 20 ppg scorer on a team that needs offense sucks!?), yet, having an offnight shooting he gets 4 assist, 2 big steals and 3 rebounds. I think that right there shows he's a quality player who will do anything to help the team win. Hawkins isn't starting anytime soon, at 2-guard, at SF, anywhere. He is awesome off the bench though.

It was so sweet to see Eddie completely outplay Rasheed tonight. I know Eddie has had bigger stat nights but is this his best game as a pro? Eddie played like a man tonight and dominated when it counted the most. Rasheed was never able to muscle Eddie around in the paint.
    Great game by Eddie.

    ESPN Recap

I particularly like this part at the end:

Pippen, who played for the Rockets in 1998-99, is still roundly booed when he returns to Compaq Center.

    hehe.. Go Rockets Fans!!!

Definitely a great win. Defense is great; Leader showed up when he supposed to show; The potential project had improved.

There is nothing to dislike Yao on a personal level. He is a good kid. I m sure windnsea agrees.
