AB, Trader Jorge got it right... my race (or the color of my skin) doesn't have anything to do with it... what it means is the only way I'm getting close to the rim is if we lower it to 8 feet.
I am a 5'8" power forward with blindingly "white" dribbling skills. I set a great pick, box out and have a great fake jumper/pass to the post. Seriously, I'd love to come hang, though. There are a lot of people here I would like to meet. I've met Jeff and he seems ok so maybe some of you are ok as well.
More should be like you. I'll remember that and quote it from time to time, if you don't mind. Guys thanks for not ripping me on this. You know the type, as soon as they get "I'm white" into the equation, "You're black" is soon to follow.
make a game around thanksgiving and im in. ive been playing 3 times a week so im ready to lay the smack down on you houstonians.
i will smoke you on the court sonny, no matter how much weight you have lost. and buck...i wont be passing the ball in your direction anymore...you always blow the assist anyways...and that goes for you too sonny.
If you can make into New York City maybe we can round up enough people. Then maybe after a time the East can play the West in a championship game somewhere.
Thanks for the kind words! You can quote my statement all you want. Back to the topic, what is the latest word? I am getting excited about playing once a week! Maybe I'll actually be able to develop a shot! B
Sorry. I'm working on it. The city is a little slow sometimes. Plus, today is a holiday which has slowed things a bit.
Just thought I'd bump this up because I'm really exciting about the possiblity of playing on a regular basis, even if I get benched after the first week. B
I just called. Love Park is taken for infinity. The lady kinda laughed at me and said it has been booked since she's been working there. Oh well. Maybe we can find another park. I'm trying to call the West Gray one, and there are others in the Heights, although I'm not familiar with the state of the courts.
Jeff, I would use your cc.net leverage with the Rockets to get them to allow us to use Compaq Center. I think we would make a nice half-time diversion with all the name calling and taunting.
talked to two more. All booked. Looks like we have a better shot of entering a cc.net team into a league than reserving a court for just us.
There are plenty of outdoor courts that hardly ever get used. Hard rims and killer winds, but hey, it's better than nothing. Thanks for checking anyway, Jeff & HP.
