Interesting thread in the wrong forum. Realizing that there is a problem is the first step in correcting it. The Admins have always given the members a fair amount of discretion in policing themselves rather than being heavy-handed and running people off. There will always be someone who tries to redefine the BBS and stretch the limit of what is generally acceptable among the members. The rules are largely unwritten about what is considered poor behavior/judgement, yet a member should also be able to sense boundary limits without being told they are pushing against them. There has to be some diversity and freedom to express oneself, otherwise the BBS is rather bland. There is a ROckets03 to offset a Mango, as it should be. I don't see this as a solution. This would only encourage posters to PAD their post counts to get to that "almighty " member status. We already have a problem with Padding, it's almost (maybe already is) a FAD. Damn you Smeg, DoD, Bob*, and others that I can't remember off the top of my head!!! I log into cc.net Monday morning seeing this 200+ post thread "Listen..." thinking that their is a great conversation going on... what did I find? A great conversation + a lot of Padding that I have to skip through. The art of Padding.
