Nene not looking to relocate, regardless of Melo
There's been talk of Nene possibly looking to get out of Denver should Melo walk. But Yahoo! Sports reports that family issues may keep Nene there long-term. His wife's pregnant and from Colorado. Often overlooked in players' desire to win or chase big markets or money is the impact of family. Nene may wind up being the building block the Nuggets will need him to be going forward regardless of how the Melo situation works out after all.

    Could this effect trade status?

According to the OP, Morey is looking for players with upside. Nene is a decent player but he is what he is -- there is no upside. The same holds true for Dalembert and Kaman.

If we want upside (plus youth, height and athleticism), we will sign Kyrylo Fesenko, draft Jonas Valanciunas (not Enes Kanter whose knees are worse than Greg Oden's) or trade for BJ Mullens, Javale McGree or DeAndre Jordan. McGee and Jordan are as available as Serge Ibaka, but hope springs eternal.

Yeah, but we should still get Nene if we can.

Having said that, I halfway expect DM to grab a center with upside. I hope we find out before the last minute (or later).

Is Mosgov worth going after? He seems like an interesting project, who can rebound and block shots. He does have a skinny frame though.

He is inconsistent, but he got 11 rebounds on Feb 11 against the Lakers and 14 rebounds against the Pistons on Jan 30 plus 23 points on the same day.

i guess 7 boards a game is considered good by today's nba standards. i miss the old days when players like rodman got avg. 16 rebounds a game without even trying.

7 boards a game for a PF is mo taylor-like, and, in my opinion, just average

7 boards a game is not considered good in today's nba, unless you are a 6'4"-6-7" shooting guard like Landry Fields(7.1 rbs) or Dwayne Wade(6.9).

Rodman was special even in that era. 16 rebounds was unique back then just as it is today with Kevin Love. The average rebounder in that era would have been under 10.

We should consult Jay Bilas to find players with upside.

He tends to overrate college players.

Nothing yet huh? Still waiting on Carmelo for every team? Oh well guess nobody is making any moves then. Carmelo is not getting traded anywhere but the Knicks. So if the Nuggets dont move him to the Knicks he is not going anywhere until the offseason when he leaves for them nothing like I said and has happening for the millionth time. Clubs are stupid to waite for that domino to fall to make their moves. Especially Denver.

I will laugh if Denver calls Melo's bluff and NO trades are made this week because of it.

I've been thinking about this myself. I'm sure something will be decided about Melo, but what if it doesn't happen until it's so late that no follow-on trades can get done?

Personally, I hope Morey gets to a certain time, say 24 hours before the deadline, and pulls the trigger on a couple of important trades, and doesn't wait for the perfect deal.

Getting Nene would be great, but it wouldn't kill us to get, say, Dalembert, Mayo, and an additional 1st-round pick.
