True, landing a centre will be the deal that Daryl has to make. That's the deal that ATLEAST has to happen. We need more than one deal, hopefully we can sneak into a few 3-team deals and pick up some nifty players, expiring contracts or draft picks.

Remember what happend in December 2010?
We got Terrence Williams basically for nothing... Case closed.

time to start planning for 2012. get as much cap space as you can for that summer. one of dwill and chris paull will end up with the knicks. the other will be looking to pair with dwight.

neither guard seems to want to stay with their current team, and the magic are stuck with unmovable contracts like arenas and hedo, making it mission impossible to sign a pair of max's like dwight and one of those guards.

those guys will be looking to pair somewhere else. the 2012 season is next year, teams will start preparing for that free agent pool this summer. might as well get a head start.

Did anyone say Asik could fill the void left by Yao's two season long stint on the injured list? No, of course not. Nor does anyone know just what he might cost, or if the Bulls would even trade him, just as no one knows if Morey is willing to trade Lee for Asik or anyone else. If we knew these things, we'd be "legendary ClutchFans Insiders," and we are not. We hear things and speculate. I keep seeing absurd future deals for Dwight Howard, Paul, and other top talents in the league that are unrealistic, to put it mildly. Someone like Asik, from my perspective, is a center we might actually be able to acquire. That makes him worth discussing. He's a possible piece in the future's puzzle, not some replacement for Yao. No one can replace Yao and his unique skill set.
