Or, his time on the floor is strongly correlated with the time that other clutch teammates are on the floor.
I still believe giving Harden the ball at the end is the right call. Despite his mistake this time, he's proven he can be clutch.
clutch time appearance possibility, estimation Harden is 100% time on the floor, Parson about 95% time, Howard about 95% Lin 100% when Harden didn't play, 50-60% otherwise Beverley about 70% Jones about 60%
Harden is the worst black hole star player in NBA history, too eager to be the hero, when he sees his chance he makes his team mates invisible, hes the laziest star player ever as well, doesn't play a lick of D and also settles for long jumpers when he is capable of much more. Imagine if the Rockets still had Martin instead of this ballhog? heck any SG that can play D would be better than him, what he lacks defensively is much more important than what he brings offensively, which is 3 pointers and ability to get to the line (in the regular season) the **** he pulls in the reg season won't work in the playoffs. So what happens when he's cold? you have a player that doesn't play any defense AT ALL and is going to take up the majority of the touches and take 30 shots to score 25 points, horrible.
I often said Harden has all the tools to be great except for one and it's a big one: maturity. When he figures it out and finally grows up, then we will be a true contender year after year.
I'm still pissed off at Harden for this game. Seriously, you jack up 28 shots, when it's Lin who has the hot hand in OT and Dwight is absolutely destroying Lopez downlow? WTF! He looked absolutely lost when he drove in and got stuck.
Why not? Give Martin as many touches as Harden and he'll probably produce the same type of #s, but Martin isn't that kind of player who hogs the ball and becomes a black hole in crunch time, he moves the ball, he can do just about everything Harden can, he also actually defends! Imagine this team if they didn't have this manufactured star in Harden and they played more team ball instead of watching Harden ISO? ya, sometimes it works, but thats just **** basketball and no fun to watch, watching teams swing the ball finding the open man is beautiful, Harden takes that away from his ISO superstar antics. Just watching Harden on defense is very frustrating, any bballs teams defense is a chain, and he is always the one that ****s everything up whenever his man decides to shake him, the amount of points he is responsible for giving up on a nightly basis must be worst in history.
Sorry dude, but it's pretty clear that you're just venting. Martin has gotten manhandled on defense pretty much his entire career. Remember how awesome he was here when he was our number one option? Oh, right. And if you truly believe Harden is a paper tiger there's not much else to say.
Martin gets manhandled on defence because hes 6'7 and hes 150 pounds. Harden just doesn't give a fk. He mentally just clocks off defensively.
Maybe I am, but I'm sick of Harden's desperate attempts to always be the hero, his lack of defense and his laziness on both ends of the court, the nerve he has to take up the game winning shots when he relied on his team mates all game to cover his man and he was cold. he truly is the worst black hole chucking "star" ever when you take all things into account, most importantly his refusal to play any defense, his ego is just that huge that he believes he is "the man" in Houston so he doesn't need to play any D, **** him.
I'm not arguing that Harden's defensive effort is bad most nights. However, I don't agree with the premise that Martin would be as good offensively and better defensively than Harden has been as a Rocket. That just seems silly. The other poster is obviously frustrated with Harden's performance last night. When people are that upset there's not much you can say to change their mind.
