I wouldnt be surprised if all this is a smoke screen and the Rox really are not looking for a PG. I have no doubt they may want a lottery pick, but I would be surprised Morey would let it be known they were in the market for a PG if they were in fact really looking to land one.

After last years draft, Morey obviously knows home important it is to identify what other teams want ie: turning Batum into multiple trades and landing Donte Greene and Joey Dorsey plus memphis' second rounder. Cant see why the Rox would let it be known they wanted a PG. I can only imagine that would hurt our chances of landing the one we wanted.

Very high aspirations if the goal is to win championship. Not very realistic.

I love inside scoops. And I would say going for a pg makes sense to me. In the playoffs it seemed at times are best rotation was Lowry and AB. The only problem was Lowry passed up to many open 3's. Also we lack a good passing anything. After Tmac went down Yao was our best passer. SO I would say the Rockets would be looking for the best passer that shoot 3's. Also size would be nice since he would probably be playing a lot of 2 or on the floor with an undersized AB.

I think this has more to do with selling high than anything. Brooks' value is very high right now. He performed much better in the playoffs than he has at any point in his young career. Morey probably thinks he can push Brooks as a proven commodity and a couple more of our assets for a lottery pick with more potential.

DD it was on his Twitter. Twitter.com/clutchfans

The more I think about it's either Rubio Evans or Curry.

Rubio - Best PG prospect, best passer in the draft.

Evans - Can play the 2. McGrady is eventually out, this year or when his contract is up, and maybe we don't even resign Artest/end up trading him to move up in the first place. Evans isn't a good shooter, but if some of us liked the thought of BDiddy, Evans is younger, and that type of 'PG'

Curry - Stronger than people think. I think he benched 185 10 times at the combine. Durant couldn't even do it once, and we all said the same thing about Durant coming in. Too thin, etc. Point is, like Durant, Curry can get his own shot off, and is a deadly 3 point shooter. Bigger than AB as well.

Jennings, Holliday and Flynn aren't upgrades.

well i guess the key word is lottery...as much as i think Lawson would be liked by morey, he's not expected to be a lottery pick...based on the mock drafts:

rubio, curry, holiday, flynn, jennings....but which one?

i think we can take evans out of the discussion, he's seen as a combo guard or more of a SG, with his turnovers, lack of a shot, etc...not someone we'd usually take...i dont think we were fond of Davis at all...

Morey is trying to get Rubio and if he can't get Rubio he wants to get Curry if the price is right.

Getting taller would be nice. I like that Hawes + Rubio idea. Of course, Yao always makes outside-skilled centers look all-world; Hawes has looked great when I've seen him play, which has been mostly against Yao. Having his skill on the roster would be nice insurance, just in case Yao gets injured a fifth straight season. And Rubio's got game. Any 17-year-old who can play--not to mention walk on the same court with-- the Redeem Team is worth developing. I bet he and Scola can make the pick-and-roll look like a Tango. Ole, bebe.

looking at the scouting report on flynn, he's definitely not what Morey would go for....i dont think holiday is either......leaving rubio, jennings, and curry.........which one it is i think depends on who houston is including in a trade (brooks or lowry)...shooting is too important at the pg pot for them to trade brooks for rubio and have a rubio/lowry back court...

    i would expect a rubio/brooks, jennings/lowry, or curry/lowry backcourt...

I disagree. Evans was at his best with the ball in his hands. And he would add height to the team. And his shot wasn't bad either. He can hit the jumper.

Nocioni and #4 (if Rubio on the board) for Brooks, Landry, Cook, and two future first round picks (with at least one pick not lottery protected).

    +1

But maybe we know that we can't actually get Rubio b/c we can't get the #2 or #3 pick. If so, maybe we're secretly making a play for Harden?

Rubio might become great, but if we're really trying to win now then Curry makes more sense. But does he help us much more than AB already?

Nocioni is more of a 3 though, i'da rather go for a taller PF who can help at center

You gotta give Sacramento incentive. They like Hawes and he is on a rookie contract. It would help them most to unload Nocioni.

Of the teams drafting in the top 10. My guess is Minnesota and GSW are likely candidates as trade partners.

Both teams need a starting PG but can't afford another bust draft or free agent acquisition. They also have contracts they want to shed.

    McGrady + Brooks/Lowry to T-Wolves for 6th pick + M.Miller + Cardinal + Madsen + Telfair

    McGrady + Brooks/Lowry to GSW for 7th pick + Crawford + Maggette + filler

    i haven't seen evans a lot, but here's what i found online:

    WEAKNESSES:
    - Decision making
    - Dominant ball-handler
    - Out of control at times
    - Shot-selection
    - Stuck between 1 and 2
    - Turnover prone
    - Doesn't always know limitations
    - Off-court red flags?
    - Older than class peers
    - Poor assist/turnover ratio
    - 3-point shooting percentages
    - Free throw shooting

does it seem accurate? I just think Houston specifically hates or doesn't need a lot of these, especially bad shot selection. bad decision making, too much dribbling, turnovers and poor 3 point shooting.

i can't see them trading tmac yet unless we're getting someone like a vince carter

I think GS still wants guards who can run and gun, lowry doesn't fit, i think they'd also rather draft jennings/curry than trade for brooks
