    It isn't unimaginable at all.

Lakers gave up nothing but unproven players and Kwame Brown.

If Memphis only gets Aaron Brooks, they will be getting more than what they got in that trade.

Marc Gasol is a good player though, but at the time he was unproven.

Aaron Brooks +Tmac is WAY more than what they got from the Lakers, and Brooks + Landry or even Brooks + Hayes...All those guys are proven players who proved their worth to a team.

Grizz got Prospects, cash considerations, and Kwame Brown.

    So it's not unimaginable.

The thing about the 4th pick is you know you are going to be able to fill the hole of either a wing (Harden), a big (Thabeet), or potentially your choice of any pg (if Rubio wasn't selected with the 3rd, Memphis is not picking him). I think Rubio at the 4 is a distinct possibility. The Grizz will take Harden (the safest bet for immediate contributor) or sell him to the highest bidder. Rubio has made it clear that he doesn't like Memphis and is only scheduled to workout with the Kings. I know the Thunder have said they might go PG, but with an up and coming prospect at basically every position (Green, Westbrook, Durant) and no real post players, I have got to believe Hasheem is the pick here. They need size and defense. That means Rubio, for better or worse, will probably drop to 4. He won't slip pass the Kings if they don't trade the pick. Nocioni's contract plus the 4th pick for Brooks, Hayes, and Cook's expiring plus fut 1st saves them 2 million immediately (plus the cost of signing the 4th pick) and gets them out of Nocioni's 4 year contract.

Sad that we are referring to Nocioni as a "contract"

Can this guy not still contribute?

The thing is, the Kings would be elated if Rubio fell to 4. IMO I don't see them trading out if he's there. That's my opinion.

Also, we need to stop using the Gasol trade as an example. They got Kwame's expiring contract....and got roasted for it. I think Papovich was vocal about it too about the ethics of it all.

It was a big expiring contract, and I don't see them trading the #2 to Houston for Brooks + change. Trading the #2 and bypassing a Thabeet who they can use for a point doesn't make sense. (Since they have Mike Conley)

Of course we'll find out soon enough.

It's well known that the height reported on team/league sites is with shoes. Since both Harden and Wafer are always listed at 6'5", that means they're both really closer to 6'4".

    Moot point.

Not to mention the rest of your argument is laughable. How is a SG who's nothing more than a scorer 3 years into his career supposedly better "in every facet of the game" than a guy who is considered the most well-rounded, NBA-ready SG in the draft and likely to go #2 overall? He also draws comparisons to Brandon Roy, who is pretty much the definition of being good in every facet of the game.

Meanwhile, Wafer's game is so well balanced that he gets shut down by Sasha Vujacic.

Just because I don't follow the NCAA doesn't make my arguments useless. Rather than watch dudes like him own inferior competition and look (or not look) like Hakeem on God-mode, I just rely on other people to do the information sifting for me and read around the bazillion draft profiles they make, as well as read about stuff like team workouts and the draft combine.

However even without watching a single NCAA game I find it crazy that you think Donte Greene and JJ Hickson would have been the top two picks had they stayed for one more year. Donte Greene was 28th pick in the draft last year. Are you saying James Harden and Blake Griffin's draft stock was only that high as well? Seriously? The top picks in this year's draft are only as good as last year's 28th pick? Damn, why are people wanting to get Rubio then? As for Donte Greene being the top pick in this draft had he stayed a year...

Ok, here's way I think of the draft right now and the players the Rockets should be going after:

#1. Believe it or not, but I am chosing Rubi boy as my first choice now. Why have I changed my mind on him? Well, this thought just crossed my mind that Tmac will most likely be somewhere else this season and for the Rockets, we WILL miss him for his passing and playmaking abilities. With that in mind and Rubi boy being compared to Steve Nash (highly doubt he's anywhere as good as Nash) coming into the draft he could take that role as the big playmaker and passer we need after Tracy is gone. The only big thing I have on the guy is his shooting and ego, which could hurt him later.

#2. Dammit this is a freakin tough choice but I'm am actually putting Stephen Curry as my 2nd pick over the guy I praised a lot about lately, which is James Harden. Why the hell would I, you ask again? Well, again think about the same thing I said about Rubio. With Tracy gone we will need another playmaker and that's why the Rockets are possibly searching for a PG in the draft. In comes Curry. He's would be my next choice if Rubi boy is picked by another team first cause he has the courtvision and passing abilities that he showed in college and not to mention, he the best shooter in the draft. I know a lot of people say he's gonna be a bust ala J.J. Redick but I think this guy is different. He was the only good player on his team and carried them on his back every nite. The way he had to score in college was tough cause he was aways doubled or even triple teamed and he still manage to put up big numbers shooting 45% from the field and 51% from 3pt range. 51% from 3pt land! With him in Houston he wouldn't have all the defense focus on him and with Yao on the floor, that will be deadly.

#3. Finally, last but not least, James Harden of course. All I have to say is he's compared to Manu Ginobili and Brandon Roy. That's enough said. :D

    Of course he can.

He's a little overpaid, but not by comparison to paying $22 million for a guy to do nothing.

Not to mention that Nocioni might be better for overall team chemistry in case re-signing Artest becomes too expensive.

My proposal if Rubio slips to #4:

Send Landry and Barry to Milwaukee for their #10 and Dan Gadzuric.

We then package McGrady, Lowry, and the #10 to Sacramento for Nocioni, Udrih, Garcia, Kenny Thomas, and their #4. Draft Rubio.

    Brooks/Rubio/Udrih
    Battier/Garcia/Brooks
    Artest/Nocioni/Battier/Garcia
    Yao/Gadzuric/Hayes/Dorsey/Cook
    Scola/Thomas/Hayes

Cook and Thomas are expirings. We could possibly move them before or during the season, may be able to get New Orleans to give us Chandler for those 2 contracts..............if we want him..........or possibly to Washington with another asset (future first rounder) for Jamison, etc. Lots of options with those expiring contracts.

    My reasoning:
Sacramento: If Sacramento is in as rough a shape financially as is expected, what we are giving them is a ton of salary cap relief and they are still going to be able to get a quality pick at 10 with the Milwaukee pick, either a SG or a PG, whichevr way they want to go. They can go ahead and play for the lottery again next year, get a shot at John Wall, then be able to survey the FA pool to see if they have some fits to build a contender.

Milwaukee: They get to save cap space dumping Gadzuric's contract. They get to avoid committing to a first round pick salary. And they essentially get Landry for their first round pick, home boy going back home.

Rockets: We get the playmaker we are looking for in Rubio. This means we can move Brooks to the 2, not have to worry about re-signing Von Wafer since we are upgrading with Garcia at Wafer's spot. Udrih and Nocioni are somewhat the bitter salary pills we have to swallow to make it happen, although both are smart heady players that make us even more flexible on the bench and make us very, very deep. Both of those guys can play, they can shoot and create space, which is the type of players Adelman wants.

Milwaukee would want a PG in return, they are about to lose Sessions via free agency

I love it but your going to have to give Milwaukee more than just Landry for the #10

Why do you guy keep saying the Kings could be giving away Martin or Hawes?? Are you serious..these 2 players are the future of their franchise. They're not going to give them up just to save money.

I doubt it. They are going to retain Sessions. But there is also the possibility of reworking the parts and sending them Garcia and expirings for Redd. Thay would give the substantial cap relief that should make it easy for the to give up the pick.

The Kings got Nocioni as part of a salary dump. If they're looking to take that salary dumping even further...

    T-Mac + Brooks + Cook ($27.101,644M) + White to KINGS for Martin + Nocioni + Thomas+ 31st, 2nd round pick ($25.955,17M)
