I could see why the Rockets would probably want a guy like Curry cause Rick would probably mold him into the next Bibby for us. I personally wouldn't pick him but he would be fun to watch if he plays anything like he did in college.

Just not sold on giving the reigns to any rookie pg... and our time is NOW! We've got a 2-4 year window with Yao and Scola. Any rookie we bring in is gonna need at least a year or two to develop. Even Rubio would need time to adjust to the NBA style of play. Added to the fact that Aaron Brooks is developing nicely, and I say no to drafting a pg. Dont trade up and use our pick on a bigman. Someone who can fill our need at backup center. It's far easier to have a rookie come in as a defensive specialist rather than trying to run the pg position. Then go get freakin Hinrich! Trade TMAC for Redd (if possible). And weve got our championship(s)! ;)

Harden has excellent passing/playmaking skills. He was the only player on the ASU squad that could make plays for his teammates and he wasn't even the PG.

I believe his assist totals were up around 5 or 6, w/a low assist to turnover ratio. Don't have the numbers in front of me, but I'll work on getting him.

    works on espn trade machine....
Tmac and Brooks to Bucks, Landry to Chicago
    Ridnour to Chicago
    Hinrich and Redd to Houston
We take on the long contracts, everybody else gets expiring contracts... both Chicago and Mil get good young players and cap relief.... add some future draft picks to grease the wheels if necessary...
I'd much rather do this than chase 'potential' in the draft, ;)
Resign Ron Ron, draft a bu center or a FA that can log minutes at c and pf
    C Yao/Rookie/Hayes
    PF Scola/Hayes/Dorsey
    SF Battier/Artest
    SG Redd/Barry/White
    PG Hinrich/Lowry
Barring injury... mail us the trophy now! ;)

If the Rockets are indeed trying to get one of the top 5 picks, don't discount that another mystery team is involved. As illogical as it may sound at first, since the Rockets do want to maximize there chances while Yao is hitting his stride, getting a low 1st round pick, and picking a player another team wants (even low 1st round picks) is not unheard of. The Rockets could be targeting a vet on another team that would only be traded if he could be replaced by their targeted pick in this draft. It appears it would probably be a PG since they dominate the lottery projections... just something to ponder.

    Bill Engram...........couldn't carry my jockstrap.

As far as Sacramento goes though, I could see a Nocioni, Udrih, Garcia, and the #4 for McGrady deal though. And we may get lucky with our pushing and get to take out one of those guys in exchange for Kenny Thomas' expiring contract. They would probably want a point guard back. We'd have to find some small trade to send them Lowry. Lowry for Mikki Moore. Then we could possibly move Moore, Thomas, and Cook for some other overpaid big man to fill out our roster and draft Rubio.

    Brooks/Rubio
    Battier/Garcia
    Artest/Nocioni
    Yao/Hayes/Moore
    Scola/Landry/Thomas/Cook

    Wafer????
    MLE?????
    $13.5 in expiring contracts

Without getting too technical: the only way you take Udrih's contract off Sacramento's hands is if Kevin Martin is included in the deal. Martin > #4 pick.

i dont think there was any rockets connection to thabeet, ray allen, and rip...just stuff that started here...the real rumors are the #2 pick, the #5 pick, Gortat, and a pg from the lottery

I would rather have the Kenny Thomas contract that ends in 2010 so we can use the extra cap space to resign some our guys that season. Udrih would get no playing time here because whoever we draft is gonna be back up or starter and we still have Lowry or Brooks over on the bench to start if needed.

Kinda off tangent, but I'm not very familiar with Martin's game...and I have always wondered how the hell he get's to the line so much. Just looking at his numbers and the games against us, he seems like a jumpshooter. Anyone care to elaborate?

But for the #4 pick? Not that anyone would want Udrih, but I don't think Sacramento is giving up the #4 pick if someone just takes Nocioni/KT off their hands. Maybe, but it all depends on how much financial trouble the Maloofs are in.

With the assumption that you have to package T-Mac with someone of actual value, and not wanting to give up Brooks, that means trading Lowry again (or Landry). In a trade with Sacramento that involved T-Mac for contracts/lottery pick,if you had to add a value player, I'd throw in Lowry and take back Udrih.

I think Sacramento would also rather have Kenny Thomas's expiring contract come off its books than have Udrih's ghastly contract continue to haunt them. Hence, the inclusion of Udrih (over Thomas) in any trade for Kevin Martin. Otherwise, there is far less incentive for the Kings to trade their franchise player.

They should trade Martin for Manu. Salaries are match, and they can save the no.4 pick.

He's extremely quick and contrary to popular belief that he's just a jump shooter he does drive to the bucket A LOT. He's also good at drawing fouls from shooting jumpers as well. With that said Martin is too good to be true and not even worth discussing.

Easily one of my favorite players in the league and he's always got a nice fade.

No way the Kings give up Martin. ..especially if the #4 is included.

Then, by the trade deadline, they can trade Manu+Udrih (or Nocioni) for Tmac.

we usually do a good job of keeping him out in the perimeter...usually, he's ahead on fast breaks, takes back door cuts, and slashes to the rim well, once at the rim he does a good job of drawing contact.

Id love to get him, his play is the missing link to a ring...that and a back up center.
