I'm just saying with longer arms it's easyer to finish at the rim, defend, and block shots.

Yeah I notice that too when I was looking at his DraftExpress page. His athleticism is underrated. If anything, he's a good athletic player with maybe average quickness and a slow first step...?

On the other hand, Harden likely has an equal or greater wingspan. Ultimately, that's the most important factor when discussing height/length.

If you look at him now and compare him to when he was still in college he looks a lot buffer. Shows how much muscle he's packed on in the summer already and shows how good his work ethic is. Tmac could learn from him. :D

actually, when I was thinking about it, he does really reminds of a Paul Pierce. I really hope we get him even more now that I hear that Shaq might be heading to Cleveland to play next to Lebron. If that's true then there's no way they're trading Amare. :(

i've heard that comparison before, but pierce is bigger and stronger, therefore can get in a better position to score.

I think we are drafting another PG for insurance and development. It is not that we are trying to get rid of either brooks or lowry. At least not now as we are fighting to win a championship.

so why are are getting another PG? first and foremost insurance plan. second which is the biggest reason is Alderman wants to see more AB and lowry in the same lineup together.

We had some success in it and due to our limit in PGs, we were forced to only play them in limited time.

Also when we have brooks and lowry in at the same time, it spelled Yao of his mins, and our offense stays in tack. it gives time for yao to rest and while our score don't stagnant.

this, along with your subsequent follow-up post, is easily the best explanation i have read thus far in explicating the possible motivation behind making such a move.

If we are getting one of those picks to draft Harden, it would require Tmac's expiring.

baron davis has a huge injury history. that has nothing to do with being on a good team or a bad team. he also has a history of being a malcontent. i dont want the rockets to be locked into a long term contract for someone who needs athleticism, yet is always hurt, not trying, and complaining.

camby is the most overrated big man in the nba right now. all he does is chase stats. denver got better by letting him go and replacing him with birdman. and he's brittle, and expensive.

not just no but hell no to davis/camby. why are you trying to lock the rockets into these players with no history of winning, questionable attitude, and huge injury history? come on!

What I saw in our playoff run said to me that A.!Brooks is a diamond in the rough, a second coming of Calvin Murphy! Something that we haven't had in many a year!! So full of promise that I think all the posters wanting to trade him must be crazy! :p

Talent like this must be nurtured not traded!! :p

Uh, for a guy who wasn't his PG he had a funny way of showing it, playing him 34 mpg and saying that he was reluctant to trade him after it happened.

How about drafting a big PG who's able to defend a SG?? so Brooks will be shift to Rockets' SG.

As I said earlier in the thread, it's hard to imagine this PG talk is real, but targeting James Harden makes all the sense in the world.

I'm not big on predicting which player will do what, but I strongly believe James Harden is the 2nd best player in the draft. To me, he is really like a left handed Brandon Roy, which is awesome. He's got that great athleticism (and he does, even if his game isn't Vince Carter like), but plays methodical and smart. He would be such a great pick and roll player in our system (with Yao, Scola, etc.), and would be the perfect post passer to Yao from the left wing three point position (to then make the baseline basket cut after the pass). Morey and the entire Rockets organization is still stinging from not getting Roy.

I'd put $10 to the tip jar that Harden is the guy he's targeting.

The problem is, how do you acquire him? It's such a long shot.

Maybe the best bet is to hope he falls to Sacramento at 4, and then you trade something like:

T-Mac, Lowry, Dorsey + Future Draft Pick
    for
Udrih, Thomas, Nocioni + #4 pick

It's a clear salary dump for Sacramento, and Les would be taking back a lot of salary...a lot. Thomas is almost at the point you can live with - 2 years left so maybe tradeable again next offseason. But Nocioni is way overpaid at $8 million per year with 5 years left (though would at least be a serviceable bench player). Udrih would be a good addition, too, but Sacramento would likely be happy to trade his contract for Lowry's, considering their rumored financial issues.

    This keeps Brooks and Landry.

If forced to add Landry to a deal, I would, because while Chuck isn't near the offensive player Landry is, he can at least get minutes, and be a positive +/- guy because of his unique skill-set.

If forced to add Brooks to a deal, I'd pass. I'm in the camp that Brooks is going to get better, more consistent and more confident in his game. 15 ppg, 4-5 apg.

Lets face it we need a pg with some height. Brooks and lowry are great and can hold there own but when brooks can hit the ourside shot he has a hard time getting to the rim.

I don't know much about him, but Harden looks like a player who could start contributing in his first season. A guard/SF rotation of Artest/Battier/Harden doesn't sound bad.

    Is he better than Wafer?

I really like that video, he seems very under control as a player.....and a huge bonus is him being LEFT HANDED....

He has the DD stamp of approval.
