This is why I couldn't find a Jonny Flynn highlight video when I looked for it. The guy's not flashy, he just gets the job done. And he does it very well.

I don't see Jennings as an improvement over what we have. He is a flashy shorter point guard like Brooks but he doesn't have the shot that Brooks has. I think Rubio and Evans are the pipedreams.

But I am still under the impression that they are trying to package Brooks and for the high pick and then packaging that second pick and McGrady, and Cook for a superstar Point Guard along with bad contracts.

New Orleans and Paul, Chandler, etc are the pie in the sky hope for me.

I'll just throw my 2 cents in.

First off, the point guard position has evolved into the most important position in the league right now. It has become a wing player game.

Having said that, we have a solid pg duo at the moment, but there is definitely room for improvement. Of the two I dig Lowry's game the most, as he draws fouls and plays awesome d. Brooks is a blur with a good jumper, but he will always have his physical limitations, and when his jumper is off, he is pretty much useless out there.

Right now I'd say AB's stock is as high as it will ever be. If there is a chance to trade him for an upgrade, go for it. We have a guy that can step in and be a starter already in Lowry, so why not? If we don't have to give up AB to get a rookie pg, even better, we can have one to develop then. Honestly I think we should be rolling with 3 pgs on the roster anyway.

But I can't really judge whether it's a good idea to move into the draft til I know what we'd be giving up to get in there.

From those scant clips I've seen in this thread, Jennings reminds me of Francis, which is both a good thing and a bad thing.

I'm not getting my hopes up that high though. Morey always seems to get something done in the offseason, so I'm sure he isn't going to be just sitting there with his thumb up his ass, but still, there is competition out there for fleecing picks, so it's a lot to ask to come away with a lotto pick w/o overpaying.

I think Morey wanted 3 PGs, I think he said something about getting a veteran PG. Personally, I wish there was some way the Rockets could keep Brooks and get a top 10 pick in the draft.. :(

I'm sure he was a bit flashy in high school.

If Jennings went to Arizona then I'm sure you would see video of him making fundamentally sound plays instead of just being flashy.

ok, here is a video for brandon jennings, this is not a highlight video. From what I saw, this kid is still very raw, bad shot selections and bad shooting, nowhere near AB's level.

You can not be serious. Eddy Curry is probably the worst player for contract value in the league. Jared Jeffries would probably be somewhere on that list as well. The knicks would be dying to give up both those guys. They would probably do it for Tmac alone just to give up those two guys assuming Curry isnt available at 8 when they draft.

And you offer Tmac who has a huge expiring deal and still might be able to have a very productive season next year. Landry who has one of the best contracts in the league for a player not on his rookie deal. You also throw in a future number one pick and say it would likely take Brooks or Lowry to make this deal happen.

Morey does this and he becomes the new Isiah Thomas.

Not bad...but..i dont think we need draft picks..or rookie PGs for that matter. WE have a very talented team..and TMAC's very very vaulable contract. If TMAC comes back healty then we have no worries..we just have to adress the back up center position. And if we can trade TMACs contract if he doesnt come back strong...and package that with the likensss of brooks, or landry or one other player..then we can land a VERY good player that can contributee and help this team where it needs to go!

    That's good to know.

I'd rather go for a pg to develop rather than some 3rd string vet scrub though. Unless the vet could really help the other pgs develop, like say in a Dikembe role, then that would be cool. But I'd rather not waste a roster space on someone like say, Anthony Johnson, just for injury insurance.

i actually like what i see from jennings. even though his shot selection is bad he looks very poised making plays with the ball, something brooks struggles at.

That has to be the most "highlight" non-highlight video I've ever seen. His court vision and overall presence is ridiculous for his age.

Jennings set to work out with the Knicks, as there's growing speculation that Curry will not be there at #8.

    Enter Houston..

looks good, only question is quickness to me. He doesn't look like he has that quickness that you need for the NBA for a smaller stature guy like he is.

That Rubio kid definitely has some A+ court vision. If he can develop a consistent shot, no reason to think he can't follow in the footsteps of Nash. He should be a much better defender so even if he never becomes a great shooter, that will compensate for some of it.

I don't know about raw quickness, but his hesitation dribbles, look-offs, and ability to change of direction seem to get him past multiple defenders at will anyway. If nothing else, he looks absolutely deadly coming down on the break with a full head of steam.
