If McGrady is still on the team come training camp, I better not hear the same #$@% from him that he said last year on Media Day...

About how he already will need surgery after the season.... How he isn't sure how he feels... And he better come in healthy. NO BEER BELLY!

That just annoys me. He had all off season to get in shape and he didn't care going into last season.

No, thats what I am saying.

I dont want a guy who will be motivated to come back because its contract year.

We dont need him forcing things anyway.

That is the worst Tmac Argument I have ever heard and the strangest spin. You could easily confuse it with agreeing with me.

rv6, tell me how getting the #2 pick, paying him 4m per is about business. Iguess parker, howard, prince and guys like that were actually 2nd rd picks also? What these rumors, if true , tell the rockets screwed up trading the lotto pick and now realize they are further away than a 25 min per game role player away. With yao having 3 good yrs left, now they want to get a guy with some upside? Ok.

wow that last play where he's playing d on rose was pathetic...i know he was younger and in HS, but his body language was screaming "i dont care to guard rose, i'll just try and reach around "......

Even if Tmac came back as a healthy 2004 Tmac, I wouldn't want him. I have some pride and to accept back a team that throws your whole organization under the bus just shows that you have no honor.
Tmac thinks he can do whatever the **** he wants, well if I was the GM, i'd just trade him away, even if he has great value. Show a reminder that this club has some pride and won't take f*** from any drama queen.

Maybe cause they grew up watching him in his Orlando days.

Haha you mean Donte Greene? Well his stock rose up and we were able to trade him to get Ron Artest. I guess Sacramento wanted to believe that all these players who compare themselves to Tmac will be great one day.. ex: Kevin Durant and Rudy Gay.

i'm pretty sure they dont start out at 4 mil...but in the long run they get more money, more ticket sales, more merchandise sales etc.

As for parker, prince, etc...i'm just stating what i remember from back then. I dont remember any team saying they had their eyes on brooks and the rockets took him, he was a projected 2nd rounder, most analysts considered it earlier than they thought he was gonna go and figured Houston must really like him and wanted to grab him early. Even late first rounders take time though, most aren't going to get off the plane and start making significant contribution...yes they are exceptions, but its not the norm.

three years ago. Remember that. This was 3 years ago..things change. Just move on already. If you're going to keep complaining about it at least take injuries into consideration, i don't think you ever do.

I haven't seen much of Evans but he seems a little slow. Notice he does not get much separation from his guy and requires a lot of dribble to get free. Rose on the other hand takes one studder step and he's off to the rim. Evans is also a crappy shooter. He only shot 27 percent from behind the college 3. That is pathetic for a combo guard.

Don't really see anything too impressive about Evans. He looks raw and looks like he might have the tools to do decent in the NBA, but nothing really stands out about him. Just tells you kinda how weak this year's draft class is.

i dont think this draftee we get is going to stay, hes going to packaged to a team with a better record that needs a good pointguard and is willing to give us something good due to their economic hurting.

The Rockets badly needs an elite pg. Brooks showed flashes of great play but he also showed he was quite inadequate as a pg. The way Rubio looks, moves and passes he seems to be the reincarnation of Pistol Pete Maravich. You cannot have a pg that's better than that. I say draft him asap.

Morey was apparently hot for Caron Butler last trade deadline. So maybe he tries to get both Butler and Washington's draft pick by packaging, say, Brooks/McGrady/Battier + cash and taking on a bad contract or two?

Amare without Nash is just an above average player. His ego is a lot bigger than his game too.

Caron Butler? We need a TRUE PG. His TOs is almost the same as his assists.

I think this is a really interesting take. Sort of the 'just win baby' mentality. It has DM written all over it. I don't watch much college ball, so I haven't seen any of these guys play, but suddenly I want Rubio.

The draft pick would net us a PG, and Butler would be the scoring wing to replace McGrady. In a radio interview soon after the deadline, Morey said Butler was the guy he wanted but Washington wouldn't budge.

unfortunately the poster you just quoted is completely oblivious to the fact that rick adelman routinely benched jason williams in 4th quarters of close games, ultimately leading to the latter's trade in exchange for mike bibby. it's very safe to say that in the event that adelman is actually intriged by rubio, it is no way due to any correlation with the memory of jason williams.

Doc, did the Rockets brain thrust check on reports that Jennings' IQ is suspect?

It is funny that people bashed Brandon Jennings for his highlight video being fancy when Ricky Rubio highlight video is basically the same thing. That is why it is an highlight video on youtube, they show the fancy stuff.
