    No busier org than Houston.

Reasons behind activity are extreme interest in Howard. Not afraid of his not resigning
trying to get enough assets to land him

    Fans are anxious

Teased every year since Morey's first year to move up.

have some players to trade this year and fans anticipate movement

    Probably not making 3 picks

With Donuts, Ppat and Morris not wanting to add 3 young players. Expects 1 first rounder maybe 2 not expecting 3

Host doesn't expect Howard trade tonight, because of Hennigan not being on the job long enough.

Houston's backup: doesn't believe Pau is happening, Josh Smith would be a piece to help make Howard happy.

Thinks it is a solid draft, very good not great from 7-25. really good players there

thinks Lowry may get dealt tonight,

Thinks McHale is grumpy when they lose and is old school. Especially when team loses when they shouldn't. tough mindedness rubs some player wrong

Reiterates it is a huge push for Howard by the Rockets, that is who they want and will be in Orlando's court.

    Some points from Clutch:

    • Definitely thinks the number 1 target is Dwight, but doesn't think he'll be traded tonight.

    • If Dwight doesn't end up coming to Houston, then he can see the Rockets going after Josh Smith to try and lure Dwight later on. Does not see us going after Pau Gasol.

    • Thinks Kyle Lowry will be traded tonight if he had to guess.

    • Its a deep draft with a lot of solid players which is tempting.

    • Thinks that we will not use all 3 1st rounders tonight.

Reasons for Houston being so active?

They've had extreme interest in Dwight, as every team would. They're not afraid that he said he would not re-sign here. Making a strong push for him but not there yet. Their top preference is to land Dwight.

Rockets fans described today as what?

Anxious. We've been dealing with this every year since Morey arrived. Always been teased about moving up. We're anxious, anticipating some move tonight.

If no deal for Dwight, what's the potential to make 3 picks?

Very low. Got a rookie coming over, Donatas Motiejunas, who they're high on and 2 2nd year guys. They don't want to go that young.

I bet money that Orlando doesn't trade him tonight. If Houston cannot tonight secure him, backup plan as far as marquee player?

Those answers are spot on. Don't think he gets dealt tonight. Surprised Hennigan, coming over from OKC, I'd think the draft would be important to him but they're not quite ready. Some other names thrown around: Gasol & Smith. Don't believe they're pursuing Gasol now. Smith would be something to make Dwight happy. Rockets also have Courtney Lee, who is good friends with Dwight.

As far as guys at the top, do you agree this is a solid draft as far as quality of depth?

Totally agree. Orlando will do well with their pick. This is a good draft. Not great but solid from 7-25, if not beyond. Some really good players in there. A lot of players that are tempting to add to your roster.

Martin, Lowry, Scola, any moved tonight?

If I was a betting man, I say yes. I think Lowry gets moved tonight. I believe he'll be gone for sure. I do believe Lowry will be dealt. A handful of teams interested and something will work out.

A lot of discussion on McHale and guys getting along. How do you see him in his 1 year. A problem with his ability to communicate with players?

Nice guy but as grumpy as they come when they lose. I'd seen Budinger say he and McHale bumped heads but were fine. He's a tough minded guy. That rubs some players wrong, coming from Rick Adelman's laid back approach.

    Huge push for Dwight?

Oh yeah. Longshot but that's plan one. Thats who they want to add. They'll try to go for him. They were close at the deadline and they'll give it another shot.

Damn! They called the site ClutchCity.net again while saying goodbye to Clutch, who had no chance to correct them. Excellent job, Clutch. I just wish you had been on longer. Can't think of anything to argue with you about. ;-)-

I'm concerned about a deal not being done today. After we've finished the day, I hope we didn't load up on players to please Howard, instead of "fitting the team," not knowing if we'll get him.

Man, as soon as Clutch hung up the phone, the louder/dumber host just savaged the Rockets; said there wasn't a single player on the Houston roster they would want in return for Howard.

Just seems to me that he is totally missing the point of what the Rockets are trying to do, which is actually get building blocks that might be attractive to a rebuilding project...

It's not like they have a choice. Dwight is leaving them, and that's publicly known. He probably doesn't know that, though. Because he is louder and dumber.

It's hard to argue that though. If you were another team, who on the roster would you build around NOW when you don't have to make a decision on Howard until February?? It makes sense to not make a drastic move for the chump change the Rockets can offer now and wait for what inevitable will be a sweeter deal from another team. Sorry, but we don't have the chips for Dwight.

Those guys are idiots. If this was buffoonery, Orlando would agree to deal him tonight, before the Rockets "figure out how dumb they are."
