I just remember AltaVista-ing Houston Rockets and finding Clutchcity while I was waiting like 12 minutes for my 5 megapixel picture of Jenny McCarthy to download. Good times.
Correct. Clutch made us all sign up again with new names when going from the original to our current construction. I used to be agrockets or agrockets17.. can't remember which. tinman is actually a late comer. The new clutchcity website (as it was called in those days) you could read the forum without being a member. (The original clutchcity website did require a membership to even read the site so I had to sign up back then) I used to keep my mouth shut so I didn't sign up for our current version until 2001. All hail 97ers! Just kidding, people who were early adopters weren't better than other fans. We're just fans like the rest of you and we're not dicks about it. Also, I'm not positive but I might have signed up for my original membership in 1998. Anyway I'm not special.. just have a good memory.
@tinman so you're not that special after all? he was a latecomer lolololol so fitting that he should of brag about it more than anyone
I was D-up in those days, just a pup. Mostly lurked, there was such good content back then. Great basketball talk and Rockets insight.
Let him feel special. Life is short and it's one of the roles someone plays. He does not even play it well.
Is it this? http://web.archive.org/web/19980518044124/http://www.clutchcity.com/frames.html http://web.archive.org/web/19980518044214fw_/http://www.clutchcity.com/bbs.html This one a snapshot May 1998
He was not even one of the memorable posters back then. I certainly do not remember any of his posts. Guys like clutch, jeff, popeye, heypartner, CH and a plethora of other guys were the kings back then.
Yes! Great job finding that! Clutch used to write quite a bit for the front page. He still does, but back then it was a staple. I'd add @DaDakota too. His videos were pretty cool back in the day too. I think he's gotten busy with coaching, video game development, and life. Popeye/Oilepiere rarely posted, but when he did.... boom goes the dynamite! I'd have to assume he became @Codman either in spirit or in actuality.
