Yeah, you guys are right. If it was me and I didn't get to draft my own team because I wasn't on I'd be pretty pissed. I guess we'll just have to take our time and maybe we'll be ready by week 1.
History has shown again and again that the only way to do a live draft in one day is via a system with strictly enforced time limits and/or auto pick lists (ie: Yahoo, etc..). Drafting here on the bbs will take at least a week or two, guaranteed. Getting all ten people here at one time to "belt out a few rounds" so to speak, is a pipe dream which will never happen, so you shouldn't even be considering that. Either formulate a system that will account for the fact that some owners will not be available during the designated draft time or resign yourself to the fact that your draft will take a week or two. That's just the way it is.
Ok, should I just designate a pick for someone who doesn't pick? I'll just go in the order that Yahoo has ranked. Is that alright? And also, Manny, what team are you? Or are you playing?
I'm not playing in this league, nwo since I am already in the Smeg league and moes league. However, I do, for some strange reason, like to read every thread in the fantasy forum. I agree completely with what fade said about trying to get this draft done on the BBS as fast as you can...it ain't gonna happen.
Manny, I'm just going with what everyone else is saying on this thread. I have been watching this thread, and there are some people that are just not here to pick. That is why I'm asking if I should follow the Yahoo rankings and just pick someone for them for the time being until they finally show up.
If you really want a live draft, why not just do it over Yahoo? Or is it too late to sign up for live drafts?

Fadeaway is exactly right. For most of us here, this is not our "primary" league. RM95 plays with his friends, I have mine tomorrow with my buddies, Crisco is involved in other leagues, etc.... You're not going to get everyone together. It's just logistically impossible. Plus very few people know each other so it's not like we can just call someone on the phone. I have resgned myself to the fact this will take a long time. And since this isn't my primary league, Im ok with that. For others, this will be a long long frustrating experience. Let's give MDuke til tomorrow to make his pick.

I agree with what fade and riet have said for the most part. Continue this as a slow live draft. but perhaps make a cutoff date. say sometime before the season starts - maybe 2 or 3 days - set up a time(preferably in the evening) to finish up the draft if it hasn't already been done. Then you can go by designated picker or Yahoo rankings or whatever. That would also give you at least a full day to input all the rosters. I don't mind it taking a week or so, but I'd rather not have to miss out on a week's action of games.
Well said Cris. So deadline is 2-3 days before season starts. Once it hits around then, we are going by the Yahoo! Rankings.
