No one knows how this year will play out. I picked Curtis Martin in a YFFL last year, and I got screwed. So Garner could have a breakout year.....who knows.
We're seriously never going to finish this thing. Plus, now I have to take all my backup running backs before RIET picks them all.
I think the live draft suggestion is a good one. Unfortunately, communicating this idea to everyone is nearly impossible. If just 1 person doesnt show up, this will come to a screeching halt. We need people to show up and make their picks. Checking the board every 12 hours is unacceptable.
Thursday evening sounds good if others can make it. I can't do it Wed and I'm going to be gone Sat-Mon.
Thursday's good with me too, I think, even though I'm around pretty much all the time. I'm moving on late Saturday, so it'd be nice to have most of it done by then, even though I have someone to make picks for me. VooDooPope, be sure to e-mail your list to someone as well.
A live draft would be pretty hard for some people. I would say to continue this. The regular season doesn't start until Sept. 7th. We still have time. I'd give a deadline date of Sept. 2nd or 3rd if this draft hasn't gone too far.
Ok, even if it is the 4th, we still have time. There are only 2 people I think that need to send their list to someone who is going to be available to pick for them.
I have court early Thursday, so we better make it late Thursday evening.....or 1-3 months from now depending on how it goes.
Not too much, though. That give us 9 days at most, not to mention the holiday weekend coming up. Not to mention the time it takes to input the teams (which takes a while). I'm not sure what the deadline is on Thursday for setting your lineups either. Everyone should e-mail a list to fadeaway, The Cat, or someone not close to them in draft position. For example, #1 trade with #6, #2 trade with #7, #3 trade with #8, #4 trade with #9, #5 trade with #10. And everyone look at who's online when they're picking. If Kam would've stuck around for an hour or so last night, we may be back around to him at this point.
Ok, so what is a good time on Thursday night to set a live draft? How does 9...10 Central sound? If the majority say yes....then it will be that time. There are some people who just can't make it because of work and school. But their lists need to be handed to someone else then. I'm starting to think we should exchange lists with someone instead of scheduling a live draft on Yahoo. We should do our best to get everyone in here.
I don't think anyone is suggesting setting up an official yahoo live draft. Just setting up a time to do a fast live draft here on the bbs. 5 min or so time limit for each pick. If you aren't here someone picks for you, either fade, cat, or yahoo rankings. starting Thurs at 7 or 8 sounds good to me. 9 or 10 is good for me as well.
RM95, so we just continue this draft until the live draft on Thursday? I'm not sure how it is setup on Yahoo to do that. Would I have to clear the draft results list? If that has to be done, then when the draft is running, each person puts the players that they have drafted so far, right?

Well, we've already started it here, might as well keep going. I don't think we should bother with Yahoo at all, personally. Everyone needs to make sure that their picks have been sent to someone else, IMO.
Sounds good to me. We just don't have the time to do a long drawn out slow draft. If some people can't make it, tough, send a list. I'm going to have to do the same exact thing in one of my leagues tommorow. Sucks, but I just can't make it. Everyone who can't make it send a list before Thurs or run the risk of fade or yahoo making picks for your team. And lets keep picking, hopefully we can get a good chunk of it done before thurs. I say we give Kam until 4:00, then he gets a Yahoo or fadeaway pick. Of course, he took Favre in the first round, so we may want to wait this one out as well. I just hope he doesn't take a RB, RIET may go postal.
