And thank you for putting the 31 to 45's in the 'middle.' I was afraid, based on the demographics here, all the 35+ 'old codgers' would be lumped in some "too old to comprehend" category.
Couple comments from my take away: <13 - too dumb to post 14-20: Just catching on, probably weighted towards the latter portion of the range for the few participants. 21-30: Most active, bulk of the participants - smart enough to post, too dumb to realize there's more going on in the world than the BBS. Nevertheless, the posting quality improves to a poster's prime in the latter portion of this range. This is a poster'speak, as the results suggest, this is their A Game. 31-40: Most wisest ( ) of the group but coherent thought breaking down, poster's typically on their last leg. This is typically the over the hill crowd (See Glen Rice). Can still win you a game (thread) but they are fewer and farther between. 40+: Minimal involvement - BBS poster retirement age. Seems as if there were preveiously a higher number of participants in this group, but then modern medical science produced Viagra. Based on my conclusions, I hadn't even realized that I am now past my prime posting years. Now I'm depressed, but I'm not too far removed from my posting prime, so I can muster a few quality posts before I hang up my Taylor's (I realize now having seen the breakdown that few people will get this reference).
Still in the 21-30 category so far, thank goodness. (28) But I've got a lot less time left in that category than I would like. I'm not ready to get old, darn it...
My 28th birthday was the hardest psychologically because I could no longer say I was in my mid-20's. Since then, no real issues. By the way, I hit 42 next month.
Man! Why oh why did this poll have to be started? I JUST got out of statistics, and now the only thing I can think is: "that curve looks normal, no skewness, no outliers. If I really wanted to, I could calculate the mean and standard deviation for this curve." HOW CRAPPY IS THAT?!?!?!? BTW I'm 21.
COOL... you know, I think I'll do that. (OK, I'm a science nerd, but I have an excuse... it's part of my job.)
I'll see 48 twix Christmas and New Years Eve. But still, being in any category involving 50+ is humbling... Although, Robin Trower sounds just as good now as when he first came out. Dang, Bridge is Sighs is a good song! RR
I am deathly afraid of turning 26 (yeah, you older folk go ahead an laugh). Why? Because when you turn 26, you are closer to 30 than 20, and the thought of turning 30 scares the hell outta me!!!
I've got less than two months. I get a little sadder with each passing day. Perhaps that is the reason I haven't had a haircut in 4 months. I'm scared of beginning the balding process.
