The Clippers deserve an arena of their own... time to cut off that step child relationship with the Lakers.

Do you think lakers fans are going to become Clippers fans or Knicks fans are going to become nets fans or yankees fans are going to become mets fans. The clippers have been better than lakers for the last 6 years and they draw like 1/5th of the ratings. They don't even sell out their games, but putting a stadium in the hood will improve that?

I think once they start winning, it definitely will put cheeks on those seats. LA fans will go to games whoever is winning and “claim” that’s their team just like they did in GS.

he is also open to changing the name, as the Clippers will always be associated w cheap stake / racist slumlord Donald Sterling.

    i'd suggest
    • LA Freeway
    • LA smog

They have been winning. They just had DJ, CP3, BG a few years ago.

Yeah, but didn’t they have a pretty good home attendance during that stretch? I honestly don’t know but from that playoffs series that we played them, from the looks of it, they had a pretty good crowd.

Where does it say the city is giving them the land? It just says the city owns the land on which the stadium is being built. Commercial real estate is often built on leased land (i.e. a 99 year lease etc). Similar to how the Madison Square Garden Co. which owns the Forum down the road in Inglewood leases the land on which the Forum sits from the city.

Even if the land were gifted, this parcel has been empty for three decades.

"There has been nothing on that land in 20 or 30 years. That parcel was vacant and hasn't generated one dime in property taxes for the state, county or city," he said. "It was dead barren land, and now it's going to be an attractive community and business space. We're going to generate more revenue for the city and the school system." The new development is expected to generate an estimated $268M in economic activity for the city annually, and more than $190M in new tax revenue in the next two decades, according to the Clippers.

Does Jalen Green leave to clippers after rookie deal??

Isn’t he from Inglewood or use to train over there or something??

The outside court actually looks the most fun. Inside court of course still boring and uninspiring. They definitely need to change the logo again once they go there, but they won't.

... and by that time Tilman will move the Rockets back to the Summit. :D

Green was born and raised in Central California, not in the LA area.

I thought Wahl would have been all over the naming rights for the new arena.

Upon further reading they have some cool stuff, but aren’t the Clippers the team of the people, you know the people in the hood, ghetto, the urban, the gangs, so basically GTA5 players? Lol

Thats a strong benefit package for Inglewood. Have they gentrified it yet? Any minorities left?
