The Score is actually one of the better Android sports apps. Very solid for scores/stats and news from other sources, but their "original" reporting is spotty, and that's being generous.
Yep. Somewhere Chris Multiple Sauces Broussard is wailing and tearing his hair out: "NO NO NO, it isn't fair, I hate James Harden more than anyone..." "I'm afraid your Clippers connection isn't too strong, given the Kawhi info you had. And what would you have done if Harden had been traded to play with Kawhi? You can't be one's b***h and one's brute." "I will pray and Jesus shall tell me what to---hold up, I have to take this call. Hello. Uh-hunh. Really. Beal to the Knicks. You better be right on this one. Great!"
They made a phone call and Morey said hell no. What if every call made was reported this way? The way the Rockets have been reported this offseason is so strange and really off-putting.
Don't forget Vspan and AB. His starting lineup would be: PG: Aaron Brooks SG: Vassilis Spanoulis SF: Chase Budinger PF: I don't remember him being a huge Parsons fan, but that might just be me getting old C: Donatas Motiejūnas
For real. This is why old school journalism- which has things like editors and fact checkers in a way that thescore.com does not- wins out. That sentence doesn't make it past them. He is the Rockets right now, for better or worse. The clippers probably had a better chance of getting the draft rights to Zion. But for the sake of argument- if I'm Morey and im forced to take that phone call, i tell the Clippers to offer roughly double what they paid for George, or find some way to include Zion - and then maybe they can have 5 minutes before i hang up. Also - it would be worth doing so that Harden could personally fire Don McLean, Ari Gold style
Thing is, where does the GM get the juice for that? Maybe the owner was Tilman-ing him: "Make the call. Make the call. No, don't use my name." "Hi, Daryl. Whaddup. Look, by chance would you be willing to trade Harden for a bunch of 'meh' first rounders and Gallinari? Great 3 point shooter. Hello. Hello." "No, I'm here, but tell Mister Balmer who is sitting in front of you that no, he cannot have one of the top three players in the league for detritus."
I'm done watching fireworks (Brodie), so any more fireworks is dangerous. I overheard some guy said Tim Duncan has an itch to return to the basketball court as a player.
I know you are making fun of the statement so please don't think this post is directed to you. It's not that stars don't want to play with Harden, because they do. It's that stars don't want to play in the city Houston. Stars have played or considered playing in Houston because of Harden and in spite of Houston. Like take Butler for example; if Harden played in LA or NY or MIA then there is no doubt in my mind that Butler would be Harden's teammate. Houston just simply does not have the locale that a lot of young NBA players want in their lifestyle. H-Town is polluted, our "beach" is 4 hours (sorry 1 hour, not 4) away and also polluted, and we simply don't have enough city attractions to make up for it. Things that we do have going (lower taxes, cheaper and larger real estate) are probably not things on top of some young player's wishlist.
Harden is one of the reasons Kawhi is so good now. When he was with the Spurs, Kawhi and Pop would watch tape on Harden to add to his game. He probably still does it now.
