The Utah Jazz announced today that the team has acquired veteran point guard Brevin Knight from the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for guard Jason Hart. Originally selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round (16th overall pick) of the 1997 NBA Draft, Knight (5-10, 170, Stanford) has appeared in 655 career regular season games (423 starts) over 11 NBA seasons with Cleveland, Atlanta, Memphis, Phoenix, Washington, Milwaukee, Charlotte and the Clippers, owning career averages of 7.9 points, 6.6 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.77 steals per game. He appeared in 74 games (39 starts) this past season with the Clippers, averaging 4.6 points, 4.4 assists and 1.35 steals in 22.6 minutes. Knight ranked second in the NBA in assists-per-turnover (4.62), and third in steals per turnover (2.87).

Well that's a steal. Knight might not be perfect, but he does a few things extremely well, and Hart gave them nothing last season.

I agree. Excellent pickup. Knight can bring the defense and attitude they lost with Fisher. Price played, Hart didn't. Solid move.

This really doesn't help or hurt either team... Both guards are essentially the same. Can't shoot pass first PGs.

Incredible passer, but you can't depend on him to play. One day, he is tossing out 7 assists, the next day he is in street clothes on the pine.

You mean you can't depend on him to make an open shot.

    exactly.

this will be one of the "under the radar" moves that pays off in the playoffs.

Wow, that's a steal by the Jazz

Brevin Knight is a great passer and he'll be great off the bench. Hart didn't bring ANYTHING.

This is a big steal by the Jazz...thought the clippers became smart this offseason...obviously they are still trapped in their old dullness...they didnt even get a pick or a better sweatener in this deal.

How will Jason Hart even help the Clippers? Dumb deal for the Clips...

Wonder why Morey didn't jump at this opprtunity...

didn't Hart play for the clippers in 06-07? I guess they like him, that's why they traded for him...

DM didn't go for it because he needs a guy who can pass and shoot. Brevin is better than Hart and can fit in with the Jazz better than with the Rockets because they already have Deron. We have Rafer.

He played in 23 games for them in 06-07 with a 9 points and 4 assists a game.
They probably got him back for the same reason as you mentioned.
