June 25, 2010 Report: Clippers talk to Turner Elston Turner is a candidate for another head coaching job, according to a media report on Friday. The Clippers received permission to interview the Rockets assistant, Fox Sports in Houston reported, citing NBA sources. Sources tell ESPNLosAngeles.com, however, that the permission was granted two weeks ago, and the Clippers spoke to Turner then. It was not clear if a formal interview was in the works. Mike Dunleavy was fired by the Clippers in March after seven seasons and one playoff appearance. Turner interviewed for the 76ers job which went to Doug Collins and the Bulls job which went to Tom Thibodeau. Over the past few years, Turner has been in the running for a number of NBA head coaching jobs but has not yet landed one. Turner played in the league from 1981-89 with three teams. He has been an assistant with the Rockets since 2007 and worked for the Kings under current Houston coach Rick Adelman for six seasons. http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/news/story?id=5329599
