If the "melo" drama goes into the season, and the Clips get off to a nice start (Blake Griffin), then I could see them entering the Melo sweepstakes.

Good for him that he's looking after his wife and cares about her (nonexistent) career. However I think it'll take so much more than simply living in the city to make it for her.

The only thing I can think of is if they start their own reality show or something. Too bad that's been beaten to a pulp.

Maybe in NY she can work at MTV again. I haven't watched MTV in more than half a decade, but do they still do those music videos shows in Time Square?

Either way, if Melo goes to Houston and she's unhappy about it, that can be a problem.

This mentality just baffles me. Technically, the entire league outside of Miami got "played" by Bosh, James and Wade. It's tough to land a superstar, particularly when you don't have cap room and tons of other major market teams do. The Rockets took a shot anyway. It didn't work out, but what did they lose? Not a damn thing.

Some of you act like jilted lovers with how the Bosh thing turned out, as if the Rockets were entitled to Bosh or felt confident they would get him. The Rockets were never anything but a longshot. They knew it. It doesn't mean you don't still try. If someone offers you a free lottery ticket... I'm guessing you would take it. And if you lose, it doesn't mean you got "played" or that anything sinister went down. There simply aren't many elite players out there, and plucking one is difficult - as it should be.

I concur. There is the occassional bonehead that will sign a contract with them, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Signing an extension with the Clippers would be the worst decision of his career.

Glad we're relying on 3rd hand sources to judge someone's character on the court. What could possibly go wrong?

Rick Adelman went to war with Doug Christie and it worked out pretty well. :)

Back on topic: I am thinking the Clips are, of course, interested (along with pretty much every other team in the league) and have reached out to Denver. Doubt it will happen, though.

Denver probably wants Blake Griffin (maybe Eric Gordon, too) back in a deal. Not sure if Clips give them up.

Also, I am not sure Melo wants to play for the Clips. His Denver team never went anywhere, largely being held-back by the head-case nature of some players. Not sure if he wants to go to a franchise in which even the owner is a head case.
