Clippers are going to find a way to mess this up. Warmly welcome to Houston, Chris Paul.

If the Clips go ahead and trade the pick for Doc, understanding that there will be no subsequent player trade allowed, then that in itself disproves Stern's thesis that the two are related... Which means he should allow it to happen. It's a catch 22 sure... And while I originally thought they were intertwined, I don't think they are at all now. Doc is bolting. If KG comes along, great. If not, he's still bolting. KG has a no trade clause. The fact that he'd only agree to go to where Doc is coaching isnt surprising and doesn't tie he two moves together.

The problem was the way the two teams originally started negotiating, which did make them seem linked.

In any case, this seems like the last Stern overreach

Wih regard to Dwight... I just hope the theory hat the clips won't trade Griffin is true. It's a perspective I can understand. Younger, way more marketable. Perhaps with Doc they can get more out of him. Their real problem is Jordan anyhow. They need an Asik type next the Griffin.

Alternatively CP3 and Doc can probably convincingly argue its a move they should make to trade for Dwight... And the Lakers would take that you'd think.

If nothing else happens here, I suspect Celtics move Pierce somehow and he is bought out and goes to the Clippers. Then at the trade deadline I think the KG for Deandre talks will start up again and they will present a trade to the league office and dare them to deny it.

You know which team makes sense for KG?

    The San Antonio Spurs.

That is as bad as Ray Allen joining the heat, but it who would the spurs give up?

Dwight still has to WANT to play for the Clippers. Its still in his best interest to play for Houston. A winning team, less tax on money & a coach that WANTS to feed Howard the ball in the post.

Two superstars are on the market. Of course there would be speculation about them wanting to team up.

If I were Dwight, Id rather play with a superstar wing than a superstar pg. Would you?

A 2013 first. San Antonio has a lot of salary cap space

Splitter in a S&T plus a pick or something? Maybe take back Courtney Lee? The Spurs are way under the cap so the "BYC" rules don't apply. The math can also work to get the Celtics under the tax apron.

Would be similar to the Clips deal with DeAndre Jordan plus stuff.

can KG retire and then sign with a different team? and what about peirce? i wonder if they would be open to coming down to houston. i think morey could come out on top here if he works some magic after signing D12.but the clips do scare me even more now bc they are not bringing in or sending out players which means they can put together a very enticing package for the lakers to consider.

Adrian Wojnarowski: Before Clips offered 1st round pick to Celtics on Sunday, Rivers had informed Boston he planned to return for '13-14 season, source tells Y! Twitter @WojYahooNBA

I think KG and Duncan have an irreparable relationship. KG got VERY personal with Duncan and management knows this. They would ask Duncan and Duncan would decline immediately.

If Rivers has a say in the organization, he would want Bledsoe with the team. Their PGs in the playoffs killed them against NY Knicks. Bledsoe, if you give him a lot of shots, he will be a scorer and an above average 3pt shooter. It is unfathomable that the Lakers don't do this.

What did KG do with Duncan? Jeez, is there any opponent that KG hasn't gotten inappropriately personal with and royally pissed off?

Duncan, calling Dwight a clown, wouldn't speak with Ray Allen, and there's that Charlie V "cancer" episode that pretty much pisses the whole world off.
