A pick is not a player (yet). They couldn't trade an actual player in the league to the Celtics as incentive for them to release Doc, but a pick is allowed.
They won't reject this acquisition. What they will have an opportunity to reject is the KG/Deandre deal. If they do reject the KG/Deandre deal I believe it will backfire on Silver (as this deal will probably go down after July moratorium).
As always thanks! I cant figure out whats going to happen next with this transpiring. Alot of options, and considering them, I dont see how Clips are so much greater
Look at it this way: Locking up CP3 is worth the pick to the Clippers, plus they get the best available coach on the market. Doc is much better than Byron Scott.
Sources tell ESPN that Clips believe CP3 will soon notify them that deal w/Doc Rivers' clinches his signature on new five-year max deal July 1

Because Griffin is much younger, has fewer injury concerns, is a marketing machine and is loved by the fanbase and ownership. They're not the best team in the West right now with either Griffin or Dwight, so they'd rather stick with their guy and keep building -- unless Paul forces the issue.
Building to be 1st round upset again then. I know the clips are a scary team, but you should be building to beat the Heat.
J-lin, Asik, T-rob for KG And Rondo Or just j-lin and t-rob and 1st round pick for Rondo Get it done Morey
Celtics acquire : doc rivers clippers acquire: 1st round pick According to jackie mcmullin chris paul now will stay in la for sure
