Morpheus obviously slipped you the red pill. "Experts are calling them the most serious voting-machine flaws ever documented. It requires only a few minutes of pre-election access to a Diebold machine to open the machine and insert a PC card that, if it contained malicious code, could reprogram the machine to give control to the violator. The machine could go dead on Election Day or throw votes to the wrong candidate. Worse, it's even possible for such ballot-tampering software to trick authorized technicians into thinking that everything is working fine, an illusion you couldn't pull off with pre-electronic systems." -- Newsweek, 5/29/06 issue Somebody has to make sure who wins.
What a choice -- Dubya or Hillary. Ewwwhhh, I'd have to give my vote to Dubya. Thankfully, I don't have to make a Bush-Clinton choice unless Jeb joins the race. As I have said more than several times in various threads, I am fed up with a fractious America. That's why I continue to champion a Huckabee vs. Richardson contest -- clear choices without the losing side feeling out in the cold. Sadly, it won't happen. The Democratic Party clearly will be the winner in the 2008 election -- unless they shoot themselves in the foot with a Hillary nomination. That, my friend, will give the Republican Party new life.
in the new greenspan autobiography he jokes that he wanted to propose an amendment that if you were willing to do whatever it takes to become president you're barred from running.
It's funny how some of you hate Hillary with a passion. I am wondering what kind of bad thing has she done to warrant this much hatred, especially from some of the Democrates. What Bush and his republican houses have done are there for everyone to see. But what has Hillary done? She voted for the war? LOL. Who didn't? Or maybe she's just hurting some male ego? Just wondering.
If you really think a corrupt president cannot do lasting damage to a country within 8 years, you should try asking Nigerians who lived under Babangida's rule.
Apparently some men are just intimidated by strong women. What thumbs? She steal your cookie? Stand by her man when the witch hunt was on?
I am not young at all, and I still have a very good memory, although it has faded a lot comparing to 20 years ago. Just please enlighten me with a short list of the terrible thing she has done. I am not a US citizen, but I am interested in the election of the most powerful country. I see a capable, experienced and strong person in Hillary, the perception of "anything but her" really surprised me.
Yet there are those on the left who argue that Bush has done irreparable damage to America during his tenure.
What he has done is significantly more damaging than any thing Clinton has done. If you do not see it, nothing I or anyone else say will matter, but the majority of people in this country can see this.
http://www.realchange.org/hillary.htm This website is kinda fun. It has all sorts of dirts on different candidates.
why don't you enlighten us then and answer the question and tell us what lasting damage Hilary Clinton wrought on the country - other than a failed attempt to fix our broken, profoundly inefficient health care system - which ultimately made no difference, I am hard pressed to think of a single thing to which you could possibly be referring.
Apologies Sam. I was not available for board duty last night. As soon as I can get my day in order and my clients happy, I'll do just that.
While I would be content with any of the Democratic contenders versus the Republican alternative, I hope Hillary is elected simply for the fun that we'll see on the board from those who hate her so much. Good times are coming.
You completely missed my point -- you claim that it is not possible for a corrupt president to do lasting damage to a country over an 8 year period in the US democratic system, yet at the same time you adhere to the position that GW Bush has in fact done irreparable damage to the country during his tenure. Which one is it?
It's probably been said before but if you change the thread title to this: Politicians = Corruption I would agree.
