He has shown more improvement than I expected. He has a very long way to go, but it's encouraging to see that he is getting better. He looks somewhat physically stronger too.
it isn't good either. He's showing flashes but he'll need to be there for the rest of the season and maybe part of next season before he'll be anything NBA worthy. He has the talent but it's just ridiculously raw right now.
Nothing wrong in mentioning Elan Chalon, but they should have written Switzerland after his name. Otherwise people will think he is French, instead of being Swiss.
how is that good, who averages those kinds of numbers in just 14 minutes per game ? that is outstanding
If it was the NBA it would be amazing to have those numbers in that few minutes, but it's the D league where scrubs can score 20 points a game and weak rebounders can pull down 12 a game. If you watch him play, he looks almost completely lost a good deal of the time, but his raw talent is enough to put up stats against the weak level of competition.
Not sure where you're getting the bolded part from. Unless my half-asleep brain missed something, it sounded like Morey was being (moderately) positive about Dorsey's recent play. Of course, he was not effusive in his praise, since Dorsey has been a huge disappointment overall. But Morey didn't say anything negative about Dorsey in the interview, other than that SOMEONE had to step up in that center role (implying that neither Black nor Dorsey has done that much so far). Count me among those (at least a little) encouraged by Dorsey's recent play. He's always going to make one or two bone-headed plays, but his defense and rebounding has been much improved from the beginning of the season. Some of that is his recovery from his foot injury, but certainly not all of it. Maybe his pride has been appropriately injured and he's finally stepping up to respond. As for the reason for Capela's call-up today, I don't think it's so much about supplanting Dorsey in the rotation as it is about (1) going up against a Memphis team with plenty of depth at the big positions and (2) an increase in PRACTICE TIME over the coming days. I personally do not expect Capela to play a whole lot of meaningful minutes on Wednesday. Sadly, I have a feeling he'll end up getting at least a few garbage minutes, though, once Memphis puts the Rockets away. There really isn't an "injured/inactive list" anymore. The coach simply submits a 13-man roster to play each game. Therefore, if a team has more than 13 players on its roster, some players have to sit out. With Jones and Beverley already ruled OUT for Wednesday's game, Capela would be the 13th (healthy) man even if Dwight plays (which he probably won't).
Exactly. It is difficult to describe the talent difference between the NBA and the D-League. If the starters - end of the bench talent difference is from Houston to New Orleans, the NBA - D-League is like Houston to Japan.
Even if you halve those numbers per 14 mins here in the NBA a it would be a nice contribution from a 2nd string Center. At least to allow Dorsey to fully heal or catch his breath.
He is playing 15 minutes. 15!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if he was healthy, he would average easily a double-double.
12 pts, 7 boards, 0.6 blocks in 24 mpg for Tim. So Clint's production per minute with Tim's 24 minutes would be: 15.4 pts, 12 boards, 5.5 blocks
